ABI Multifamily has brokered the $3.3 million sale of a 46-unit apartment community in Mesa, Ariz.
Vice President Ryan Smith, along with Partner Eddie Chang, represented the buyer in the transaction.
They were joined by John Kobierowski, Alon Shnitzer, Rue Bax, and Doug Lazovick.
Located at 654 S. Stapley Drive, Stapley Place has  two-bedroom units only, with an average size of 797 square feet. Each unit has its own HVAC system, while common amenities include a pool, laundry facilities and covered parking. The two-story property was built in 1985.
“Stapley Place’s close proximity to major employment options, (such as) Mesa’s Fiesta District and North Tempe, allows the new owner to capitalize on the renter displaced by all the expensive new construction occurring on the interior of Tempe, yet close enough to still benefit from the new job growth of those areas,” Smith said in a prepared statement

Reactions To Daniel Shaver Killing | The Verdict: Ex-Officer Not Guilty

National and international reactions and coverage worldwide from news sources are reacting: Mesa Police Department has released the full body camera video showing ex-Officer Philip “Mitch” Brailsford fatally shooting 26-year-old Daniel Shaver
at an Arizona motel in January 2016. It was posted online by the attorney for Shaver’s wife, Laney Sweet, who is suing the Mesa Police Department for $75 million and had been fighting for the release of the video.
Brailsford shot Shaver with a personal AR-15 rifle, which he was allowed to use, according to police reports.

A photo released by the Mesa Police Department last year showed that Brailsford had the inscription, “You’re f*cked” on his rifle.

Police body cam footage shows the moment a Mesa, AZ police officer gunned down an unarmed man in a hotel hallway -- a shooting where the jury found the officer not guilty of 2nd degree murder.
The 2016 shooting happened in a hotel where police were responding to a report of someone pointing a gun out a window. Philip Brailsford was one of the responding officers, and in this video you see and hear the cops barking out commands to a man and woman the moment they walk out of their room.
While attempting to take Daniel Shaver into custody ... Brailsford fired his AR-15 five times, shooting and killing 26-year-old Shaver. Brailsford, who is no longer on the force, was on trial for 2nd degree murder and reckless manslaughter -- until the jury returned not guilty verdicts Thursday on both counts.
Mark Geragos represented Shaver's family and described the shooting as "an execution, pure and simple. The justice system miserably failed Daniel and his family." . .

Boeing Like You've Never Seen: Microwave Electronics Fryer

Perhaps there's nothing that catches the eyes of your MesaZona blogger more than a headline that starts off with 'dubious claim', includes the letters ICBM and the company name Boeing on a EMP missile with a sub-title LIKE A CHAMP:

An explanation is definitely in order and some more information, please . . . the revelation appeared in industry publication ArsTechnica yesterday along with the opening image here.

CHAMP microwave pulse can disable electronics, but “frying” ICBMs is a long shot.

What's that all about when we usually think of only the iconic Apache Helicopters manufactured here in Mesa by Boeing, located in the northeast quadrant close by Falcon Field (a former World War II Air Force Training Base) and AZ Research Labs, both facilities owned by the City of Mesa, in a fast-developing Business Park area for the aerospace, defense/high tech/cyberwarfare industries.

"On Monday, NBC Nightly News broadcast a report claiming that White House officials had discussed using an experimental weapon to disrupt or disable a North Korean missile launch. The weapon in question, the product of the US Air Force's Counter-electronics High-powered Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP), uses bursts of microwave energy to disable electronic devices such as computers, communications and air defense radar systems.
Officials from Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) suggested CHAMP could be fully weaponized in a matter of weeks. But almost as a footnote, the NBC report noted that the weapon would have to pass very close to an ICBM before launch to affect it—which, despite CHAMP's classification as a non-lethal weapon, might be considered an act of war. . .
. . . The Air Force has conducted tests of CHAMP, a system designed to selectively beam high-energy microwaves to cause damage to electronic systems. . . Raytheon and Boeing have continued development under an AFRL contract. . . CHAMP remains a research project and has not been fielded yet by the Air Force or Navy as an actual weapon—at least not yet. But the US may not be the only country developing such a weapon, since the science behind CHAMP is fairly well-known. . . "

One of the key attractions of Merry Main Street in downtown Mesa is the 5,000 sq ft Winter Wonderland Ice Rink in the parking lot next to City Hall directly across from the Mesa Arts Center until 05 January 2018
