THESE DAYS ARE GONE (Maybe Forever /Sadly :) > Footloose - Kenny Loggins {HD}

Adam Trenk/Rose Law Group: "The reactions to the passage of Prop 207 limiting the potential for new marijuana businesses we are seeing from some municipalities is unfortunate."

Period. There is more > "The new law legalizing recreational marijuana could create thousands of new jobs and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenues at a time when our state desperately needs it. . ."

Adam Trenk, Rose Law Group Partner and Cannabis Dept. Director: Marijuana restrictions are ‘missed opportunities’ for municipalities

By Paulina Pineda, Alison Steinbach | Arizona Republic

Cities across metro Phoenix are limiting where residents can use and purchase recreational marijuana in their communities in the weeks since voters overwhelmingly approved legalizing the substance in November. . .

Pro industry advocates should engage with qualified counsel to lobby against these archaic restrictions.

The City of Mesa's Mindless Lock-Step Mentality aka Dogmatic Group-Think

Nothing could say more than this post headline phraseology to describe politics and government here in one of the most conservative cities in America.

Most recently it's about an Ordinance that was before theCity Council in the Lower Chambers earlier this week on Tuesday 01 December: "MARIJUANA PROHIBITIONS". (That was the subject of multiple posts on this blog beforehand)
Marijuana Prohibition: A failed and costly experiment! It’s time to change the policy
On Tuesday 08 December there will be A PUBLIC HEARING on this issue after Proposition 207 - a hard fought citizen-initiative - was approved overwhelmingly by voters in the State of Arizona >> THE REALIZATION THAT PUBLIC OFFICIALS WERE SO FAR OUT OF TOUCH WITH PUBLIC OPINION INSPIRED A SMALL GROUP OF POLITICALLY DIVERSE ACTIVISTS TO CHALLENGE THE CONSERVATIVES' STRANGLEHOLD ON PUBLIC POLICY
We're facing the same challenge here and now - that was clear as the light of day when Deputy City Manager John Pombier, flanked by a seated phalanx of 3 Mesa Police officers - opened with this statement,We are going lock-step with the rest of the Valley to make sure we do this in a uniform measure, . ."

Smokin' Hot News: High-Ho! Mesa Is Getting 'Greener'

What to your MesaZona blogger's wondering eyes should appear just a few hours ago in an online report from AZ Big Media is that here in the most conservative city in America, the grand-daddy of Mesa law firms where both Mesa Mayor John Giles and D4 Mesa City Councilmember Chris Glover got their first start in the practice of law, there was this headline below. Being the Pundit-at-heart yours truly is, it appears that the 'grass-roots' citizen activist movement that put the issue of what's called in popular jargon medical marijuana' in a referendum overlwhelmingly approved by voters has creating an entire new engine for economic development.
It's reason to celebrate! Visions of sugar-plums, anyone?
Udall Shumway expands into cannabis law
"After over 50 years in business, practicing everything from criminal, immigration and real estate law to elder abuse, education and medical malpractice, Mesa-based Udall Shumway is now expanding their full-service law firm with 12 practice areas to include cannabis law.
“Finding quality information about cannabis law and the legal implications relevant to the business of cannabis is like finding a needle in a haystack,” said Justin M. Brandt, associate at Udall Shumway who is the leading counsel for the firm’s practice in cannabis law. “The flood of misinformation in the public realm only highlights the need for good legal counsel, and with the industry growing at a rapid rate we’re now working with cannabis-related businesses to minimize their risk as the law evolves.”
Though many state and tribal governments have fast-tracked cannabis legalization, the legal implications of commercial cannabis is still in its infancy due to constraints imposed by federal law. Udall Shumway now advises these cannabis-related businesses (CRBs) regarding the unique legal and regulatory issues surrounding the cannabis industry given the constantly changing dynamics between federal, state and local law. . . "
How big are the opportunities?
Among the areas in which Udall Shumway is helping CRBs navigate this developing industry includes:
• Corporate Formation and Entity Structure
• Licensing and Regulatory Compliance
• State and Local Government Relations
• Financing
• Labor and Employment
• Tax
• Mergers and Acquisitions
• Cultivation, Processing and Distribution Practices
• Litigation
• Corporate Governance
• Real Estate Transactions
• Intellectual Property & Asset Protection
• Land Use and Zoning

"Reefer Madness'?? Nope > The New Green Economy Is Driving Stock Markets Wild!

Hard-to-believe what used to be "a grass-roots home-grown" culture practiced by some freaks here in America during 1950's and 1960's, can turn into a money-machine for corporations. That is once it's legal tender and traded like any other commodity.
"This company’s future doesn’t hinge on marijuana. If all forms of THC are banned forever in the United States, we think this company still has an incredible field of opportunity. (Heck, that’s why we recommended it in the first place!)
But now that there’s an estimated $80 billion industry emerging from the woodwork, their prospects are positively mouth-watering – and we think you’ll regret not getting invested now. . .
NOW Why is that according to The Motley Fool
Because after the November 6th vote, there’s the potential for even more capitalization for this small company. And if you’re not invested before then, you may come to regret it.
Election Alert: 1 Stock for the Marijuana Boom
By: Grace Phillips
An American flag in a barn.
On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Michigan became the 10th state in America to legalize recreational marijuana... and the very first Midwestern state.
Additionally, Missouri and Utah both legalized medical marijuana use. If you’re keeping track, that’s now 33 of 50 states with some form of decriminalized marijuana.
Now, why am I taking time out of your day to tell you about this?
Because I believe these three states are ushering us one step closer to an unprecedented boom in the cannabis market.
Frankly, I don’t care about cannabis itself… but I sure do care about massive opportunities for forward-thinking investors… which is EXACTLY what I see here.
Here’s what I’m talking about. Financial experts from all over the world agree: a marijuana boom is coming.
To the tune of an estimated $80 billion.

Kelli Ward: Word-Killer-Bitch Attack-Dog For Arizona GOP

Tone-deaf, raving mad or just foaming-off-at-the-mouth, it doesn't look like any time soon that the Grand Old Party can muzzle or manage to tighten a restraint leash on Dr. Kelli Ward, top dog who's somehow managed rising to the top of the pack of the Republican Party . . . she got caught saying in an email that
"We'll stop gun-grabber Mark Kelly dead in his tracks"
Arizona G.O.P. Leader Said Party Would Stop Mark Kelly ‘Dead in His Tracks’
"Mr. Kelly, a Democrat running for Senate, is married to Gabrielle Giffords, the former congresswoman who survived a gunshot to the head in a 2011 attack
“Support the Republican Party of Arizona today and, together, we’ll stop gun-grabber Mark Kelly dead in his tracks,” the chairwoman, Kelli Ward, wrote Thursday in a fund-raising email, The Associated Press reported.

> The email also targeted Mr. Kelly’s platform supporting gun safety.

BLOGGER NOTE: "Gun Rights" are "a sacred cow" here in Arizona, no doubt about that and most Republicans diving into the tricky political waters here are still treading on what to do - most people say "Do something" but they haven't figured that out yet when the Democrats are getting the traction on solid grounds of public support.

More details from the New York Times a week ago
> On Twitter on Friday, Ruben Gallego, a Democratic congressman from Arizona, called it “disgusting” and said that Senator Martha McSally, Republican of Arizona, should call on Ms. Ward to resign.
> A representative for Ms. McSally could not immediately be reached on Saturday.
> Jacob Peters, a spokesman for Mr. Kelly, said in a statement that Mr. Kelly was running for Senate “to overcome this type of nasty divisiveness that does nothing for Arizonans.”
“This dangerous rhetoric has absolutely no place in Arizona and is what’s wrong with our politics,”
the statement said.
> A spokesman for Ms. Ward did not directly address the criticism, but pointed to a series of tweets in which she had defended herself.
> “Utterly ridiculous!” Ms. Ward wrote on Twitter on Friday with a link to a Bloomberg article that cited the “stark wording” of the email.
> Ms. Ward said she did not wish Mr. Kelly harm.
“We disagree politically on the Constitution and the #2a, and I’m well aware of the harm his policies would cause should he ever be elected,” she wrote, using a hashtag referring to the Second Amendment. “Dishonest stories like this are dangerous and irresponsible.”
> Paul Gosar, a Republican congressman from Arizona, defended Ms. Ward.
"Differentiating between idioms, slang, analogies and metaphors from statement of facts” is learned in childhood, Mr. Gosar wrote on Twitter.
"Ignore #FakeNews and it’s handmaidens of stupid outrage.”

Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward > Dropping A Few More Eggs To Feather Trump's "Cuckoo Nest"

"Chemo-Trail Kelli" has a new perch, but this time she's out-on-a-limb joined by some of the state's political fringe (Gosar, Biggs to name only two) with one more 'loco'- lawsuit to get filed by November 30th.

Here's just one story on the ballot re-count

AZGOP chair eyes nullification of presidential election in new lawsuit

Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward wants a judge to allow her to examine ballots to determine if any were improperly counted in an effort to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, though she hasn’t shown any evidence of the theoretical problems she’s alleging.

". . .Ward plans to bring suit under a state law permitting any voter in the state to challenge election results on grounds of misconduct by election officials, illegal votes or if the loser is declared the winner through an “erroneous count of votes.” She is suing in her capacity as an individual and as an elector for President Donald Trump. . .The only defendants are the 11 Democratic electors who are committed to Biden, a list that includes Arizona Democratic Party Chair Felecia Rotellini, Tohono O’odham Chairman Ned Norris, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Corporation Commissioner Sandra Kennedy, Gila River Indian Community Gov. Stephen Roe Lewis and Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Gallardo...

In an article today, published in the New York Times, it had this to say about Kelli Ward:

"The election’s results are also showing just how much the state party is tied to Mr. Trump. Kelli Ward, the chairman of the state’s Republican Party, has refused to accept Mr. Trump’s defeat and repeatedly raised the possibility that cheating took place, without evidence, and has received support from two of the state’s congressmen, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs.

Ms. Ward said in an interview that more lawsuits are on the horizon, and that the president has other options available to him even if his lawsuits continue to fail, though she declined to specify what those could be. . ."

Tweeted-and-Deleted: Coo-Koo AZ Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward's Wacko'Mo Rambo Moment

". . . As Mediaite notes, the AZ GOP also tweeted, then deleted, a quote and clip from Rambo, saying, "This is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something." You know, in case you were wondering if these people are really having delusions that the climactic action-movie sequence of their sad, dead-end lives has finally arrived. Mediaite got a screengrab:

John Fetterman, the very cool Democratic lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, reacted:

He added a few minutes later, "If this isn't full-on death cult rhetoric, what's left?"

So that is how the AZ Republican Party is going under Kelli Ward's watchful eye. Don't worry, she's not just starting fights with her own side on Twitter. Kelli Ward is also losing lawsuits to overturn the election. It's kind of a pattern for her lately . . ."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------All political parties have their fringes. But the attacks on Arizona Republicans are coming from inside the house—and the rhetoric keeps getting wilder. . .

Following the AZ GOP’s weird pledge to die for Trump, Ducey appeared to try to wrest back some sanity. “The Republican Party is the party of the Constitution and the rule of law,” he tweeted Tuesday. “We prioritize public safety, law & order, and we respect the law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We don’t burn stuff down. We build things up.”
. . .When Arizona, a longtime Republican stronghold, voted for President-elect Joe Biden in November, President Donald Trump’s most stalwart supporters cried foul. After the state’s Republican-led government certified Biden’s win, the Arizona Republican Party split along Trumpist lines, with Bowers and the state’s governor calling for sanity, and further-right members calling for war—often against their party comrades.

Arizona GOP Civil War Somehow Keeps Getting Weirder

Protesters shared Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers’ home address on social media. They started a hashtag calling him a traitor. They traveled to his house, honking and shouting until the police came. And these were members of his own party. . .Repeatedly this week, the official AZ GOP Twitter account has branded Ducey a turncoat. Sometimes those attacks went personal, as the AZ GOP Twitter account accused Ducey of working to unseat the party’s chairwoman, Kelli Ward.

“How is it that the governor of Arizona (@dougducey) could surrender to the mob and abandon our great President, all while working behind the scenes to undermine and get rid of our brave and beloved chairwoman @kelliwardaz? No loyalty!” the account tweeted on Wednesday night, followed by a picture of Ducey with the caption “Betrayed!”

Ward’s own ties with “Stop The Steal” conspiracy theorists are intricate. In addition to personally claiming that Trump was the election’s rightful winner (he isn’t), Ward is also the former employer of two administrators of a massive, now-deleted “Stop The Steal” Facebook group that emerged shortly after Trump’s loss became apparent. Ward did not immediately respond to a request for comment. . .
