What is A Bucket List?

From THE URBAN DICTIONARY:
A Bucket List is a list of things to do
before you die.
[Comes from the term "kicked the bucket"]

The main plot follows two terminally ill men (portrayed by Nicholson and Freeman) on their road trip with a wish list of things to do before they kick the bucket.... It received mixed reviews from film critics, but was a box office success, opening at the top of the box office and grossing a total of $175.3 million worldwide, easily recouping the film's considerable $45 million budget and turning a sizable profit for Warner Bros.
It's very unfortunate that since the film's release, the phrase "bucket list" has become a part of the American and British vernacular - why wait until you're terminally ill to get out and enjoy life?

. . . that  is a question that's more than Food For Thought - and directed at getting people into gear to enjoy the things you like and go to the places you want to go. Forget about making a list:  Just Do It!
While it's certainly understandable that people of a certain age finally come around to see that life's too short - after all it's not "a dress rehearsal" for the afterlife [however you might think about that] - it is never too late or too early to do what you enjoy and go the places you want to go.
Please, no more "kicking the can" down the road --- Get on that road to somewhere.
Walk, bike, run, take public transportation, and drive if you have to.
You can get where you want to go Just Do It!

Regeneration of Historic Downtown Mesa
For those of you who need some ideas, here's a link from The Arizona Republic, The Ultimate Arizona Bucket List where the first feature is one destination from downtown Mesa, The Landmark Restaurant which began its life in 1908 as a Mormon Church.
It's a good example of the adaptive reuse of historic properties in the regeneration in  New Urban Downtown Mesa.
BTW readers of this blog will be finding other examples of the adaptive reuse and regeneration of historic properties in a new page listing in The Table of Contents.

[Don't know about that all-to-frequent use of the word "ultimate" - who's to say what's ultimate or not? - but you might also want to take a look at Ultimate Imaginations on the website for Downtown Mesa - among other things they do is sponsor MacFest, a downtown streetfair just above Main Street]

If any of the readers of this blog would like to make comments, that's easy to do and you are more than welcome to do so.

Here's a take-away from the movie The Bucket List:
Help a complete stranger for the good
