Maker-Space in The New Urban Downtown Mesa

Yours truly has been "on the beat" walking, synchronizing, absorbing and getting in-touch all around downtown for nine months, not exactly the new kid on the block birthing this blog site.
For some mysterious reason I was always put off by, yet on the other hand very curious about  this location with performance art-on-the-couch in the window in the "historic and authentic" downtown. Heat Sync Labs is wildly wonderful . . . maybe it brought back times gone by, the wild and wonderful good high-energy creative 20-something + 30-something [yea, 40- and 50-something also] years living in cities like Philadelphia, Boston and New York > getting excited all over again . . . but here in Mesa?
Believe it.

Sitting on a park bench in one of Main Street's pocket parks, I struck up a conversation with a not-so stranger, Eric Ose .
We had briefly met before at one of the set-up events for the celebration of the opening for the Valley Metro Central Mesa Light Rail Extension back in August. We talked about how, what, where, who and why the new urban downtown Mesa is happening + engaging the community. We got together on-site today.

That's Eric in a Facebook image above and to the left handling the 3-D printed jawbone of a dinosaur made with the resources, talent and tools at HeatSync Labs 140 W Main Street with a group of "under-40 Millennials" called Creative Catalysts - that's a MOVEMENT by and for local artists and community members; an initiative of Mesa Arts Center to engage the under-forty community - he showed around the maker-space last week.
To the left is a quick shot taken today of some kind of robotic machine temporarily mothballed up on the 2nd floor.
HeatSync Labs is a community-driven 501(c)3 non-profit shop and workspace where engineers, artists, students, and hobbyists come to make prototypes, art, and other creative projects.

It's an important part of Creative Place Making in the New Urban Downtown Mesa if you get to know and use it.

Prototype in-progress @ HeatSync
It is a workshop for mad scientists, artists and anyone creating or making! They make tools, resources, and skills available to you.
