Re: Water Quality > 2 Different Reports | City of Mesa + AZ Department of Health Services

Due to recent scathing reports about water quality all over the country and questions about "official" city, state and fed enforcement standards and lack of action to guarantee lead-free high water quality from local utilities compared to citizen and water-user experience affecting childhood and adult health here are two reports: one from the City of Mesa that "assures customers concerning water quality" [??] - without any details - and another from the state health department
These are all in Mesa

Post Date:02/25/2016 1:30 PM
With recent concerns rising nation-wide over the safety and quality of municipal water systems, the City of Mesa wants residents to know they can feel confident about their water whenever they turn on the tap.
“Mesa issues a water quality Consumer Confidence Report every year, but many people don’t know this valuable information is out there,” Water Quality Supervisor Ken Marshall said. “We want our customers to be assured that the quality of water they receive meets every state and federal standard. . .
Residents should know the value of the water they use every day,” Water Resources Department Director Dan Cleavenger said. “The City invests millions of dollars in water infrastructure and has inspectors, analysts, chemists, microbiologists, and water treatment professionals working around-the-clock to keep our system performing at optimum levels.”
The City of Mesa’s Consumer Confidence Report can be found online at www.mesaaz.gov/ccr. For hard copies, please contact (480) 644-6461 or water.quality@mesaaz.gov.

High Risk Zip Codes in Arizona - Home

Lead poisoning continues to affect children in Arizona, primarily from paint, imported goods, food, medicines, spices, leaded crystal and pewter, lead in dust, soil, mining, drinking water, and occupation and hobbies. Because of ongoing surveillance and analysis, public health professionals are able to target surveillance and intervention efforts on the children most at risk. Based on recommendations and guidance from the CDC, many states, including Arizona, have moved from universal lead screening to targeted screening.
