MD Helicopters has secured a USD76.7 million Foreign Military Sales contract from the US Army to provide logistics support to the Afghan Air Force's (AAF's) fleet of MD 530F Cayuse Warrior ('Jengi' [Warrior]) light attack helicopters.
Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, and Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of 31 May 2018, according to a statement by the US Department of Defense on 24 May.

The AAF currently operates 26 MD 530Fs after the service lost one of the platforms in February. At the time the helicopter was reported as making an emergency landing in Kunduz Province and being destroyed in situ.
