The Real Deal: No Need To IMAGINE MESA > Just Input The Data

Lot's of recent jive-talk about 'BIG Deals', but let's get real.
Always curious to see how all the important data we have here in a well-funded IT Department gets used and made available to the public with info graphics and 3D animated maps, it might be nice  to see something - or any thing - like the animation inserted to the left  on the City of Mesa's Open Data Portal (open.mesaaz.gov/home)

"Created by graphic engineer Patricio Gonzalez Vivo, the animated map gives a sky-high view of the city's hustle and bustle, capturing cars cruising along streets and lights buzzing on and off in buildings. Vivo, who created the project for open source mapping lab Mapzen, applied mathematical functions to street data to create the animated scene.
