"Yeah, progress and urban sprawl suck sometimes. Sad to see a part of local history like that just disappear." All good things must end " seems to ring true on this. "

Allred Brothers
Inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2005
For more than four decades, Harvey, Jerry and Dale Allred – known industry wide as the Allred Bros. – devoted themselves to the American Quarter Horse, watched as the breed developed and its history unfolded, contributed heavily to the legacy and ultimately entered the chronicles themselves. . . The Allred Bros. became the most successful siblings in the breeding industry.  They bred 240 winners from 319 starters, and more than 75 percent of all the Allred-breds that ever faced the starter posed for a photo in the winners circle. . . . Through 2004, horses bred by the Allred Bros. had earned more than $6.2 million.  They were the eighth-leading breeders in history. . .

For as long as I can remember, the Allred Brothers Ranch was located pretty much in the middle of the City of Mesa, AZ. As the city grew, it was always cool to drive down Southern and see a working quarter horse ranch. Sadly, that era is coming to an end. The last of the Allred brothers died several years ago. The wives/kids sold the property to someone who kept the ranch going. Two weeks ago, there was an estate sale at the ranch. When I drove by there yesterday, the ranch is now being dismantled to make way for more houses. It is truly a sad day. . . "
The pictures will start with the ranch when it was still operating and end with what it looks like now.  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6lc1xlea...Jt2yx0xca?dl=0
