Ultimate Imaginations: Outdoor Dining on AstroTurf @ Mesa Town Center (with plastic picket fences)

Ready for another Downtown Mesa Transformation on Main Street? ^^
One would guess that the city is planning for some kind of "Spill-Over" effect when all the new federally-funded outdoor dining options to supply tables, chairs and umbrellas on patios are filled with customers who want to take-away their grab-and-go orders for sandwiches, salads, drinks, and meals to another place in our urban village.
Ever since David Short left the Downtown Merchants Association in a cloud of controversy that no one wanted to talk about, this open space got a low-budget make-over of sorts after the Holiday Tree was removed.
Here's the most recent press release from the City of Mesa Newsroom about the city block that used to be open to car traffic on the north side of Main Street and Macdonald.
There's an above insert first of what the space looked like yesterday Sunday January 17, 2021.

al Fresco off Main

January 15, 2021 at 2:57 pm
The City of Mesa and the Downtown Mesa Association are excited to introduce a great way to “extend” patio dining for all of the restaurants in the downtown Mesa area—no matter the restaurant’s outside capacity. Al Fresco off Main will be a designated area with plenty of outdoor, distanced seating where people can bring food they ordered from any downtown Mesa restaurant to enjoy their meal in the middle of downtown!
Closing off half of the first block of MacDonald Street off Main, the provided seating will offer a safe, socially distanced, fine-weather dining option.
Al Fresco off Main will continue throughout April and be offered seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The tables and chairs, provided by the City and Mesa Arts Center, includes fencing around the area, signage, hand sanitizer and wipes, and staff cleaning the chairs and tables throughout the day.
