Tehran: According to latest reports, the Iran government and the country's nuclear facilities have been hit by massive cyberattacks; while there is no information about when this happened and who is behind the attacks, it is being said that important information has been stolen.

Iran Hit by Massive Cyberattacks, Information Stolen

As per the local media reports, all three branches of the Iranian government, namely, executive, legislature and judiciary have been hit by the massive cyberattacks. Along with the Iran government branches, the country's nuclear facilities have also been targeted by these cyberattacks.

Iran International English quoted Firouzabadi, former Secretary of Iran's Supreme Council of Cyberspace as saying, “Nearly all three branches of Iran's government - the judiciary, the legislature and the executive branch - have been hit by heavy cyberattacks, and their information stolen.”

Nuclear Facilities Among Many Areas Hit by Cyberattacks

The former secretary of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace has said that many key areas in the country have been hit by these cyberattacks including the nuclear facilities.

In Firouzabadi's words, “Our nuclear facilities have also been targeted by cyberattacks, as well as networks like fuel distribution, municipal networks, transportation networks, ports, and similar sectors. These are just part of a long list of various areas across the country that have been attacked.”

Iran's Warning to Gulf States Amid Tensions with Israel

In another news, the Gulf states have urged United States to intervene and prevent Israel from launching a retaliatory attack on Iran's oil sites, to avoid being in the crossfire. According to the Reuters report, during meetings, Iran issued a warning to Saudi Arabia saying that if they open their airspaces or provide any assistance to Israel in their attack, the safety of the oil facilities of the Gulf kingdom will not be guaranteed.

As per Reuters, Ali Shihabi, a Saudi analyst close to the Saudi royal court, said:

"The Iranians have stated: 'If the Gulf states open up their airspace to Israel, that would be an act of war'.
