In Ukraine, the effective use of public funds in the field of
national security and the military sector has once again come to the
attention of the public.
According to mass media reports, the National
Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized
Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) uncovered a large corruption
scheme in the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment for
the army.
- As a result of the investigation, it was established that in public procurements, prices were artificially inflated and up to 30 percent of the total value of the contract was returned to the scheme participants as payments.
- This situation led to significant financial losses due to the interest of certain responsible persons in the country’s defense system.

Ukraine's anti-corruption bodies said the scheme to procure military drones and signal jamming systems at inflated prices involved a lawmaker, two local officials and national-guard personnel.
