President Discussed Pressing Issues with Kharkiv Community Representatives

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of Kharkiv’s business sector, volunteer and veterans’ communities, schools, and universities.

The Head of State thanked veterans, medical workers, utility workers, teachers, volunteers, and all residents of the Kharkiv region for their resilience during wartime. He also thanked the business community for supporting Ukraine, its economic potential, and preserving jobs for the people.

One of the key topics of discussion was supporting the economy in frontline and border areas. In particular, the conversation focused on creating a special program for frontline regions that would be effective for both people and communities and include reduced tax burdens for businesses.

The President noted that the state would consider the possibility of increasing the percentage of employees exempted from mobilization at enterprises located and operating directly in frontline and border areas

The government will also work on a mechanism for raising salaries for teachers, medical workers, and public sector employees in these regions. Additionally, the state plans to introduce insurance for local businesses and provide guarantees for down payments on mortgages in frontline and border regions.

The meeting also addressed support for veterans, volunteers, and their families, as well as the issue of payments for energy consumed by heat supply companies and the restructuring of gas-related debts.

“I’ll speak with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. And we’ll discuss the gas issue separately with Naftogaz.
All of your concerns will be addressed,” said the Head of State.

1. Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba announced that a legislative initiative has already been prepared to prohibit the seizure of accounts belonging to such enterprises.

2.This week, the government will hold a meeting focused on the issue of tariff discrepancies for heat utility companies and related to the moratorium on tariff increases.

Russian troops seriously impair Ukrainian army’s logistics in Krasnoarmeysk — DPR head

The enemy is now in a situation when it is difficult even to retreat, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said

DONETSK, August 5. /TASS/. Russian troops have seriously disrupted the Ukrainian army’s logistics supply in Krasnoarmeysk (called Pokrovsk by Ukraine) and neighboring Dimitrov (Mirnograd), DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) Head Denis Pushilin said during a live broadcast on the Rossiya-24 television channel on Tuesday.

"If we talk about Krasnoarmeysk, the enemy has been largely denied the possibility to deliver ammunition and carry out troop rotation. Nonetheless, it is early to say that Krasnoarmeysk has been tightly and fully encircled," Pushilin said.

In Dimitrov, the Ukrainian army’s basic supply routes have been cut off after Russian troops liberated the settlement of Novoekonomicheskoye and "the enemy is now in a situation when it is difficult even to retreat, even if it wishes so very much," the DPR head said.

Major battles have started in the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov agglomeration now. Disrupted logistics have made it "very difficult" for Ukrainian troops to repel the Russian army’s attacks, Pushilin said.

"The enemy is currently in a dire situation," the DPR head said.
