Democratic Congressional Candidates in the New District One React to Schweikert Campaign Getting Fined $125,000

Democratic Congressional Candidates in the new District One have 125,000 reasons to be happy today.
Arizona Congressional District Six Representative David Schweikert and his campaign has agreed to pay $125,000 in additional fines stemming from reporting violations in an earlier election cycle.
Please click here to read a July 31, 2020 article after Mr. Schweikert received a $50,000 fine and a reprimand from the House of Representatives for the same incident.
Reaction among the three Democrats looking to unseat Mr. Schweikert in the new Congressional District One was swift and pronounced.

Arizona Congressional District One Candidate Ginger Sykes Torres
Ginger Sykes Torres commented:
“This is beyond disappointing for Arizonans but not at all surprising considering Schweikert’s track record. Congressional District One is made up of small business owners, working people, and fiscally responsible individuals who play by the rules every day. Yet, their representative for the last decade has been hit with nearly $200,000 in fines for breaking the law and using his office for personal gain. This is not leadership. This is corruption. It is time for a change.”
Delina DiSanto relayed:
“As a quick summary, Schweikert violated 11 ethics rules — ranging from misusing just under $300,000 in campaign funds as a personal tab, to pressuring his taxpayer-funded staff members to campaign for him, to dodging and lying to the committee during the investigation.
David Schweikert has consistently proven that he does not put Arizonans first, whether it be through his ethics violations or voting record. He has violated his oath, abused his power, and broken our trust. It’s time we remove him from office in November.”
Jevin Hodge wrote:
“This latest development for Corrupt David Schweikert, this time a fine from the FEC of historic proportions, is sadly not surprising. We must elect a candidate who will focus on Arizona’s families instead of someone only looking out for themselves. Our movement is backed by leaders like Rep. Ruben Gallego, 15 Members of Congress, over 50 state and local elected leaders, and a growing list of labor unions. I look forward to debating and defeating David Schweikert in this election.”

AZ Attorney General Mark Brnovich Found to Have Violated Ethics Rules by Arizona Bar
By |February 5th, 2022|AZ Politics, Featured
Arizona Attorney General Mark Bronovich was sanctioned for violating legal ethics rules by the Arizona State Bar. The Bar entered into an undisclosed diversion agreement with AG Brnovich, which means – contrary to the vindication Brnovich claims – the Bar found the complaint to be established, and that the Bar ruled and Brnovich acknowledged that at least one of the claimed violations actually did occur by entering into a plea agreement. As any prosecutor will tell you, truly innocent people don’t accept plea agreements.
Should Brnovich have actually been vindicated, the Bar would have dismissed the complaints against him following their investigation. Not only did the Bar not dismiss the complaints by AZ Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Board of Reagents, but the evidence of a violation was so strong that Brnovich was compelled to enter a diversion program as punishment for his violations, undoubtedly taking responsibility for at least one of the allegations as part of the agreement.
He has the right and the option, of course, to publish the terms of his confidential diversion agreement and prove me wrong – but he won’t. He’s a coward, and will not own his mistakes.
Of course, Brnovich is an inveterate liar: that much has been clear for years. But his latest lie – that he’s been vindicated by the Bar for his unethical behavior – is not related to his conduct as an attorney in the course of representation, but merely as a public official, so he cannot be further disciplined for this instance of lying by the Bar.
But he can be – and certainly should be – punished by the voters of Arizona on all sides of the political spectrum at the ballot box. He now seeks even higher office (U.S. Senate) from which he will continue to spread his lies and, undoubtedly, commit yet more ethical violations. . ."
NEW BOOK 50 YEARS AFTER: Garrett Graff's "Watergate: A New History", published by Avid Reader Press
Parts of a new post uploaded today are taken from something that appeared in the Friday cover in Politico Magazine and some of the emphasis on his career has been shifted fast-forward to this image that might remind readers of a podcast host today Joe Rogan (Liddy conducts his radio talk show from the Watergate Hotel in June 1992. | AP Photo). . .
Here's a quotation from the new book: "George Gordon Battle Liddy, who died last year at age 90 after having reinvented himself as a syndicated radio host — helping to launch in the 1990s the soon-to-be-archetypal right-wing talk show that wrapped him in patriotic motifs and positioned him as one of last bulwarks standing athwart a nation gone soft — had no business being anywhere close to the American presidency. Journalist Fred Emery would later describe Liddy as “an exceptionally articulate man with rambunctious right-wing views.”
G. Gordon Liddy's career and evolution outlined different paths taken today by new characters who attained and got hired to fill certain positions in our lifetimes now: reelection campaign operatives, numerous senior law enforcement roles, oddball teams assembled to root out leaks and undermine the president’s enemies, unlikely clandestine operations, assignments to overthrow governments operating under State Department cover to work dissidents, assess political parties and spread propaganda + plans involved specially equipped surveillance planes, kidnappings, illegal, laundered campaign donations, sex workers, wiretaps and spies galore.
In popular culture "the group would be known to history by a label given off-hand by the grandmother of another aide, David Young: When she asked him what he was doing in the White House, Young explained, simply, he was helping the president stop some leaks. She replied, proudly, “Oh, you’re a plumber!”
