AZ Attorney General Mark Brnovich Found to Have Violated Ethics Rules by Arizona Bar

Arizona Attorney General Mark Bronovich was sanctioned for violating legal ethics rules by the Arizona State Bar. The Bar entered into an undisclosed diversion agreement with AG Brnovich, which means – contrary to the vindication Brnovich claims – the Bar found the complaint to be established, and that the Bar ruled and Brnovich acknowledged that at least one of the claimed violations actually did occur by entering into a plea agreement. As any prosecutor will tell you, truly innocent people don’t accept plea agreements.
Should Brnovich have actually been vindicated, the Bar would have dismissed the complaints against him following their investigation. Not only did the Bar not dismiss the complaints by AZ Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Board of Reagents, but the evidence of a violation was so strong that Brnovich was compelled to enter a diversion program as punishment for his violations, undoubtedly taking responsibility for at least one of the allegations as part of the agreement.
He has the right and the option, of course, to publish the terms of his confidential diversion agreement and prove me wrong – but he won’t. He’s a coward, and will not own his mistakes.
Of course, Brnovich is an inveterate liar: that much has been clear for years. But his latest lie – that he’s been vindicated by the Bar for his unethical behavior – is not related to his conduct as an attorney in the course of representation, but merely as a public official, so he cannot be further disciplined for this instance of lying by the Bar.
But he can be – and certainly should be – punished by the voters of Arizona on all sides of the political spectrum at the ballot box. He now seeks even higher office (U.S. Senate) from which he will continue to spread his lies and, undoubtedly, commit yet more ethical violations. . ."
