City of Mesa launches Business Districts Opportunity Maps

Today, the City of Mesa Office of Economic Development launched the new and improved Business Districts Opportunity Maps, a visual representation of investment activity, assets and development opportunities in four of Mesa's key employment centers while there are six areas included with links to .pdf information. 
Before readers of this post consider investment in these areas it may be of interest go take a look at this
Data for population figures in the labor market within a 20-minute or 30-minute commute if that's a consideration for you.


What may be of more interest in recruiting or hiring employees are the shocking and low educational attainment levels
- less than 20% are high school graduates
- less than 25% have some college
- less than 45% have an associate's degree




Business Districts / Maps
Mesa has a diverse economy with multiple business districts including Downtown Mesa, Falcon District, Fiesta District, Superstition Freeway Corridor, Mesa Riverview and the Mesa Gateway area.
All Mesa’s districts have the necessary infrastructure and attributes to help businesses succeed, yet each also has a unique set of qualities that are especially suited for specific industry segments and business needs. 1. Downtown Mesa [two pages]

2. Falcon District
The Falcon District is an innovative, high-tech hub for aerospace/aviation, defense, advanced manufacturing, and advanced business services. With highly-skilled technology talent, abundant land and building options, substantial infrastructure, and convenient market access, the Falcon District is a smart location for intelligent business.

3. Fiesta District: An Important Economic Force with Abundant Opportunity
Encompassing 1.15 square miles, the Fiesta District is reemerging as one of Mesa’s important business districts featuring cutting-edge industry clusters, skilled workforce, easy market access, extensive infrastructure and ample executive hotel accommodations. Over the last several years, the area has seen or is in the midst of more than $439 million of redevelopment efforts. With new Class A office space coming online and strategic redevelopment and adaptive-reuse opportunities available, the district is ripe for business locations and expansion.
 



4. Mesa Gateway Area

Anchored by the second major airport serving Greater Phoenix, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Mesa Gateway is a 35-square-miles, developing aerotropolis ideal for international companies, aerospace/aviation and defense firms, research and development, high-tech manufacturers, data centers, large industrial users, and educational institutions, as well as for residents to live, work, study, and play.
The region features highly-skilled technology talent, abundant land and building options, substantial infrastructure, and convenient market access, the Mesa Gateway Area is a smart location for intelligent companies.

"The site selection process requires extensive data and maps. We've combined both in a visually appealing way to quickly communicate the value proposition and tell the story of each business district."

Each employment area has unique features that appeal to a variety of industries.
For example:
Fiesta District is ideal for business and financial services, corporate headquarters and back office operations, software development, education and healthcare services
Falcon District is anchored by aerospace, advanced manufacturing and technology companies, and is ripe for medical device manufacturing, advanced business services, and aerospace supply chain companies.

Mesa Opportunity Maps also promote the development sites that are available and offer a single point of contact from the Office of Economic Development for each District.
