That is correct.
We now have a total of 15,000+ near earth objects which we assume to be Asteroids. Maybe it's a great time to float a bunch of cubesats into the Asteroid Belt and let us watch it 24/7. Or not, there is a still a weird "Asteroids are doomy but not that doomy" feel to the over all space agency message. So make of it what you will.
