What gives a community something called character? That's A BIG QUESTION any way we we look at it. It takes more than less half-an-hour to agree on that complex item. For example, in the case of downtown Mesa some people might say it's historic, vibrant and exciting. At the same time others can say it's abandoned, neglected and distressed. Quite obviously "character" changes over time - downtown Mesa today is NOT the grid plan nor what Mormon prophet Joseph Smith had in mind for the original Original One-Square Mile.
Monday's meeting, with two board members absent, took place to approve and approve changes to the City of Mesa 2040 GENERAL PLAN in a remote Power Point Slide Presentation by Staff Planner Rachel Prolog.
