The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
Even after two years of Nancy Pelosi’s swamp-driven leadership, she truly outdid herself this week when she vetoed the appointment of two Republicans to the January 6 Select Committee. The move was another confirmation that the Committee’s true purpose is to perpetuate the Left’s narrative of what happened that day. Despite Democrats’ unwillingness to focus on issues important to the American people, I worked hard this week to keep pushing the needle in the right direction. Please keep reading below to see the important happenings of the week:
Interview on Fox News with Harris Faulkner
I joined the Faulkner Focus on Fox News, guest-hosted by Dagen McDowell, to discuss the border crisis and possibility of new mask mandates. It’s time we get serious about good governance and the only way to accomplish this is if Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden put aside their alternative motives and allow us to come together on common sense solutions the American people want. Interview on Newsmax with Chris Salcedo
Dr. Fauci has misled the American people throughout the pandemic and caused serious harm to the public’s trust in our leaders. Moreover, Big Tech and the White House conspired to monitor and censor the speech of private American citizens. Newsmax host Chris Salcedo had me on his show to share my thoughts on these matters. What’s the Biggs Idea? Podcast
Oregon middle school educators Katie Medart and Rachel Damiano joined me on the podcast to discuss the assault on biological sex in our schools and their fight to protect gender-specific bathrooms. Rachel and Katie were placed on administrative leave, then terminated because school administrators received pushback from people who disagreed with their ideas. Purple Heart Recognition
It was my privilege to present Staff Sgt. Goben, who was injured in the line of duty nearly 12 years ago today, with a Purple Heart to honor his bravery and sacrifice. The Purple Heart was established by General George Washington in 1782 and is the oldest award given to American service members today.
Bipartisan Letter to State Department on Passport Application Delays
Recent delays and scheduling issues with passport applications have been a growing problem. This is an issue that not only affects constituents of the Fifth District, but millions of Americans across the country. I signed onto a bipartisan letter with many of my colleagues urging Secretary Blinken to pursue any and all available means to improve service for our constituents. If you need help resolving any existing or future passport issues, please contact my office online at https://biggs.house.gov/services/help-with-a-federal-agency or call my Mesa office at (480) 699-8239. Letter to President Biden Condemning Censorship
Monitoring and censoring Americans is antithetical to what this country stands for. I sent a letter to President Biden, along with 12 of my colleagues, condemning the collusion of the federal government with Facebook to monitor and flag posts they deem misinformation. The Biden administration is leading this country down a road where only government propaganda is acceptable and free and open debate is banned. I condemn the move to an authoritarian regime by the Biden presidency. The use of private business as an agent of the state is a hallmark of fascism and Marxism.
