LOCATIONS OF MONITORS
What they say: ". As for air quality, ozone exceeded the federal health standard at 13 monitors on Saturday. With similar conditions expected today and tomorrow, we are forecasting elevated ozone values during the early afternoon/evening, so an Ozone High Pollution Advisory is in effect today and Monday.
Tuesday through the end of the week gets a little more tricky when it comes to ozone. While surface winds will remain light, winds slightly above the surface will become a bit stronger, which may help to ventilate ozone out of the region. However, with no threat of cloud cover from distant thunderstorms or outflows to help break up the ozone plume, we still forecast ozone values to quickly rise each day during the late morning and afternoon hours.
As a result, an Ozone High Pollution Watch will be in effect Tuesday through Thursday, and we will closely monitor trends and examine if the watches need to be upgraded to advisories.
