The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) believes that public participation is a critical and necessary part of the transportation planning process. The public's involvement helps MAG make transportation decisions that meet the needs of all people, and to plan transportation facilities that fit harmoniously into communities.

MAG Public Comment

MAG believes that public participation is key to the planning process. We need the community’s help to plan projects that provide benefits to the region and meet the wide-ranging needs of residents. We encourage you to share your thoughts, ideas and concerns with us through either the Public Comment Form or by completing the MAG Community Feedback Survey.

In order to develop transportation plans that are responsive to the needs and priorities of a diverse population, it is essential to have a process in place that effectively engages the public, fully integrates their feedback, analyzes the benefits and burdens of various alternatives, and recommends the most equitable solutions. MAG maintains a robust program to ensure all people have a meaningful role in the planning process.

This also supports MAG in operating in a transparent and inclusive manner. Please use the online public records request form.

MAG Public Outreach Updates Dear Press or Media Representative, The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) provides public input opportunities at meetings and events. Check the MAG Calendar for upcoming meetings. The Public Outreach page has been updated with the following new information: The FY 2024 Title VI and Environmental Justice Program was recently approved by the MAG Regional Council. The MAG Public Input and Community Outreach FY 2023 Annual Report (PDF) was also recently approved. You can also comment online by visiting azmag.gov/comment.  Make sure you select the appropriate meeting from the drop down box and indicate if the comment is for an action item. About MAG The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) provides a forum for local governments working together on issues that affect the lives of everyone in the greater Phoenix region.  We are a regional agency that conducts planning and makes policy decisions in a number of core areas. These include  safe and smart travel,  the economy and growth,  environment and sustainability, and  improving quality of life,  all with a focus on efficient and effective operations.  Our members include 27 cities and towns, 3 Native nations, Maricopa County, portions of Pinal County, and the Arizona Department of Transportation. Our planning area encompasses about 10,600 square miles.
