If they take Chasiv Yar, it's simply because all of this aid, mainly artillery and mortar shells, didn't arrive in over half a year in any meaningful way. It's the same reason experts and even soldiers who were fighting in Avdiivka said was the reason for it's fall as they were fucking up the Russians hard around Avdiivka until they could only fire 2k artillery shells on avg everyday across every front line and even small arms ammo was semi scarce to the point that units were rotating out of their positions for fresher troops and having to leave their ammo and frags for the new units.
With the major increase lately in finding almost 2mil 155mm shells and all the increases in production of those and even domestically made mortar shells, hopefully the civilized world can keep them stocked with indirect munitions to defend their positions without losing too many men and having to pull out like in Avdiivka which has basically been a border town of occupied Ukraine for a decade.
The next major thing they need to work on is SHORAD, MANPADS and anything to help stop the Russian air assaults that have dramatically increased due to lack of those things. Hopefully with F-16s they will be able to keep them back far enough from the front that these glide bombs are out of range for their positions.
But to say that losing one city, no matter how defendable when they don't have the arms to defend amounts to them eventually unable to protect the rest of Ukraine is crazy
