Fuel prices in Ukraine are rising due to an increase in world oil prices from $74 to $82 per barrel. The reason was new US sanctions against Russian oil companies and tankers.

"If we started the year at $74 per barrel, yesterday it was $82. That is, the price of oil has increased by 10%. And we see that last week there was the first stage of the increase by 1-1.5 hryvnia. Today, some networks have increased the price, and the price will continue to rise because there is a significant rise in the global market," the expert says.
- The rise in global oil prices was driven by the introduction of powerful new US sanctions against Russian oil companies and tankers.
- The market reacted to these measures, which led to an increase in the cost of oil and, consequently, fuel.
- In the coming days, prices for gasoline and diesel at Ukrainian gas stations are expected to rise further.
Earlier, UNN wrote that Brent crude oil exceeded $81 per barrel after the US imposed sanctions on Russian energy. China and India are urgently looking for alternative sources of oil supply.
On January 14, the next stage of raising prices at gas stations took place. This was a continuation of the dynamics started by networks last week under the pressure of new excise rates and the soaring of external quotes. Depending on the network and the type of fuel, its cost per day increased by UAH 0.20-2.50.
Another factor in growth is the exchange rate.
- Recently, it has no steady dynamics, but since the beginning of the year the dollar on the interbank has been healthy by UAH 0.46 / $ and for lunch on January 14 was UAH 42.42 / $.
The main changes on the ceilings took place in the networks of the middle and lower price range. After adjustment a week earlier the cost of fuel in the premium remains stable.
Light petroleum products
Operators were more active in reviewing the prices for dispal, the excise duty on which increased the most. In addition, European quotations also increased significantly compared to gasoline against the background of oil health. Thus, from January 2 to 13, the average price of diesel in Europe increased by $43/t (1.83 UAH), to $746-757/t (Mediterranean), $754-762 / t (north of Europe).
At the same time, average petrol quotes in the Mediterranean increased by $29/t, or UAH 1.10, in ARA ports — by $14/t, or UAH 0.53.
According to monitoring of the Consulting Group «A-95», the average retail price for diesel fuel from January 6 to 14 added 65 kop./l, up to UAH 53.77, per petrol A-95 — 21 kop. / L, up to UAH 56.07 / L, A-95+ — 16 kop./l.
At UAH 2-2.30, playing excise and even more, he was healthy at the average diesel at VST stations, «Ukr-Petrol», «Olas», «Autotrans». The first network recorded the maximum fuel growth in the country — UAH 3 — in the Khmelnytsky and Transcarpathian regions.
«Parallel», adding to the dispal 1-1.50 UAH / L depending on the region, became even more expensive than premium networks (57.32 UAH / L on average).
