California produces 14.7 per cent of American output on its own, with Texas on 8.4 per cent and New York on 8.1, so three states between them account for close to a third of everything the United States makes.
- California's economy was worth about 4.1 trillion dollars in 2024, which would make it the fourth largest in the world if it were a country, behind only the United States, China and Germany.
