Cyclic Materials opened America’s first commercial-scale rare earth magnet recycling facility in Mesa, Arizona, in September 2026, utilizing its proprietary MagCycle technology to mechanically separate magnets from end-of-life products.
The company hasn’t specified which products are being processed at the facility, but it signed a huge deal with electronics recycler ERI in July. Its technology is designed to mechanically separate magnets from discarded equipment and recover materials for return to US manufacturing.
Mag-Xtract™ is the rare earth magnet concentrate produced by the Mesa facility, which processes up to 25,000 metric tons of magnet-bearing scrap annually.
The concentrate serves as feedstock for hydrometallurgical refining (using REEPure technology) to produce high-purity rare earth oxides like neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), dysprosium, and terbium.
Currently, Mag-Xtract™ from Mesa is shipped to Kingston, O
