Local First Arizona Wants You To Take Action On Taxing Online Sales

Got the following message in an inbox 16 hours ago, so will pass it along to readers of this blog. It's from Thomas Barr, the Executive Director of Local First Arizona about what he calls "an urgent legislative matter".
There are many other urgent issues in front of the Arizona State Legislature in a barrage of bills presented in the current session. This one may or may not appeal to you to address one imbalance in Arizona's tax code for collecting TPT/Sales Taxes.
Arizona lawmakers are now considering HB 2702, legislation that would require out-of-state online retailers and marketplace facilitators (like eBay) to collect sales tax on products purchased by Arizona consumers. It should be noted that micro-sellers and hobbyists are exempt from the proposal. 37 states have already taken steps to ensure basic tax equity between in-state and out-of-state retailers. Nationally, Arizona is now among just eight states with a sales tax that haven’t taken action.
Please feel free to contact Mr. Barr should you have any clarifying questions about this bill at 602-956-0909 Ext 3.

Hi Tim,
As a trusted advocate of local businesses, I'm writing to you today about an urgent legislative matter and an opportunity to speak up on behalf of Arizona's local businesses.
As you know, we’ve been working for years to address the imbalance in Arizona’s tax code. Currently, local Arizona businesses are required to collect and remit sales tax, while out-of-state online competitors are exempt. . .
