City of Mesa Planning & Zoning Board Meeting Wed 05.11.2022

Irrigation & The Citrus Groves and those proverbial 100-Year Water Reports that are so outdated and unreliable
Last Wednesday's PUBLIC HEARING followed a non-transmitted Study Session where Item 3-a was removed from the Consent Agenda for good reasons. . .
Looks like in these parched times where water is such a scarce commodity, there are more plans to build more new homes - this time on former agricultural lands included in 'a family farm' with existing irrigation pipes - turned into Pay-Dirt for real estate developers who make the assertion for approval that residences use less water than the prior use of flood irrigation to grown citrus trees.
The current plans, approved with conditions, are related to other plans for massive new home construction in the area called "Pioneer Crossing" marking the arrival of early settlers from Utah sent to colonize Arizona.
