Campi Flegrei volcano (Italy): seismic crisis resulted in M 4.4 quake yesterday
Seismicity is inherently unpredictable, so additional seismic events, potentially of similar energy to those already recorded during this swarm, cannot be ruled out.

Earthquake in Naples Italy! The strongest earthquake is shaking hundreds of buildings - YouTube
Campi Flegrei, earthquake of magnitude 4.4: it is the strongest in the last 40 years.
It was a long night spent on the streets by many citizens of Pozzuoli. Many found shelter on board cars parked far from buildings, or in the two small tent cities, set up by the Civil protection, in the port area and in the Pertini seafront area.
From 19pm yesterday seismic swarm underway in the Campi Flegrei area recorded until approximately 00:31 today 150 earthquakes, the strongest of which of 4.4 magnitude, inside the Solfatara.
This is highlighted by theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), adding that at present there is no increase in the lifting speed, which is currently 2 cm/month, nor changes in the trend in horizontal deformations or local deformations of the ground different from the previous trend.
However, it is about the shock with the greatest intensity in the last 40 years, the strongest ever recorded since the phenomenon of bradyseism reappeared in the Campi Flegrei. The previous record dates back to the earthquake of September 27: then the magnitude recorded was 4.2. Another strong earthquake (magnitude 3.9) then occurred at 21pm and another, of magnitude 46, at 3.6pm.
The shock was felt by the populationlazionor in the Phlegraean municipalities of Pozzuoli, bacoli e Monte di Procida, and in the city of Napoli, particularly in the western area neighborhoods Fuorigrotta, Bagnoli, soccavo e Pianura, but also in the hilly area and in the city center, particularly on the upper floors.
Thirty-five homes, in three different buildings, have been evacuated as a precaution. This was announced by the Prefecture of Napoli. As regards roads and sub-services, no particular problems have been reported, nor in terms of health.
A Pozzuoli, the epicenter of the earthquake swarm, schools will remain closed today. This is what the Municipality communicates on its page Facebook, inviting “keep calm as much as possible”.
