The PVV’s Geert Wilders has in the past called for the Netherlands to leave the EU as Britain did, but his party’s manifesto makes no mention of a so-called Nexit and instead urges voters to back the PVV so it can change the EU from within.

Empty seats in French parliament for Zelensky’s address
While the Ukrainian leader received a standing ovation from French lawmakers, a sizeable contingent of opposition lawmakers chose to skip the event, deeming his appearance inappropriate just two days ahead of European elections. “It's regrettable and out of place 48 hours before the elections, even if it in no way detracts from our support for the Ukrainians,” said Olivier Marleix, head of the conservative Les Républicains lawmakers. “I think it's normal for France to welcome the Ukrainian president,” added Communist Party leader Fabien Roussel. “But if it's just to fuel the warmongering a few hours before the election, that's a serious matter.”

Touching on Macron’s pledge to supply Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine, Zelensky says: “Your fighter jets piloted by Ukrainian pilots will show that Europe is strong, united by our common values.” He adds: “I hope the jets seen yesterday in the sky of Normandy will soon be seen in the skies above Ukraine.”

Zelensky: Ukraine war is 'a crossroads for Europe'
Zelensky draws a parallel between the horrors of World War II and the bombardment of Ukraine’s population, the blockade of the country, and the “forced re-education" of Ukrainian youths abducted by Russia’s occupying forces. “This battle for Ukraine has the same existential value for Europe,” says the Ukrainian leader, describing Russia as “our common enemy”. He adds: “This battle is a crossroads for Europe, we can either defend freedom or become victims of history.”
