"Facebook is pushing back against a report in Monday's Wall Street Journal that the company is asking major banks to provide private financial data.

The social media giant has reportedly had talks with JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, and US Bancorp to discuss proposed features including fraud alerts and checking account balances via Messenger.
Elisabeth Diana, a Facebook spokeswoman, told Ars that while the WSJ reported that Facebook has "asked" banks "to share detailed financial information about their customers, including card transactions and checking-account balances," this isn't quite right. . . "

This might be good hyper-local example of "Partnering" or public private partnerships. This one is Mesa Mayor John Giles with the ASU mascot Sparky. It was a public relations gimmick that flopped big time when taxpayers realized the trick and rejected the questionable agreement - In essence, we’re talking about the potential of privatizing profits for real estate spectaors and socializing losses whenever the government enters into such agreements — to the detriment of we the taxpayers.

Hard to make a choice among those three candidates who are in-the-race on the official ballot to fill the seat left vacant when current D3 Councilmember Chris Glover is termed-out.
It's a two-year term that being contested now: early voting started August 1st in the Primary Election 2018. The last day to vote is August 28th - that's about three weeks away.
One candidate will be eliminated in the primary election in a run-off to be decided in the November 8 General Election.
Here's one candidate who hasn't received much attention in mainstream local media coverage.

Yep - that's from NPR just a couple of hours ago in a report from Boise, Idaho that you can scroll down to read with a link to hear a 06:23 podcast.
QUESTION: It's Primary Election Time. Are any of the candidates running to get elected or re-elected for seats on the Mesa City Council even mentioning or promoting affordable housing here in Mesa? . Nope. Instead we have 'upscale, above market-rate luxury housing' and rampant downtown real estate speculation by millionaires.

Here in Mesa we get Conservative Republican Mesa Mormon Mega-Millionaire and AZ State Senator coming out in front of the Mesa City Council as the public servant violating the public trust as the prime mover behind-the-scenes in a $10-miilion low-ball buy to control the commercial real estate market here in downtown based on taxpayer approval or rejection of another scheme to finance one ASU building here in downtown. He appeared with ex-U.S. Congressman Matt Salmon who snagged a high-paying job working and lobbying for ASU as "Vice-President of Government Affairs" at the time he announced he was retiring from elected office. Worsley has since announced that he will not be seeking another term in-office.
