Canyon Winds Forecast For The Las Sendas Area

According to a report by Roland Murphy from Arizona Business Exchange on November 17, 2015, a new 261,380SF "Senior Community" [is there ever going to be a junior community??] is getting proposed with plans and zoning requests to the City of Mesa at the northwest corner of McDowell Road and Ridgecrest in the city’s Las Sendas area.

The area has been considered for development by both retail and hotel operators over the years, but it was never pursued due to a perceived lack of potential customer volume to sustain the businesses. Hampton believes the long-term nature of residency will make it a viable contributor to the area.
Development plans for the Canyon Winds project call for three buildings. On the east will be a one-story 43,470SF, 32- unit memory care building. The center will feature a two-story, 46,560 SF, 60-unit assisted living building, and the west will have a four-story 171,350SF, 124-unit independent living facility.
Area residents and associations will be invited to comment on and contribute to the design process to ensure the project’s aesthetics are developed to fit into the existing area.
