Holy Speed Limit "BatMan"! How To Cover A Collision On Main Street

Heard some sirens, emergency vehicles and first-responders racing to  a scene on Friday, November 3 while at the Farmers Market. Heading of to do other errands on Main Street your blogger walked onto this scene captured in an image below of a collision on Main Street between a big SUV and the front of a Valley Metro Light Rail train.
Not wanting to sensationalize an unfortunate and possibly negative-publicity incident here downtown, no report was posted even though it was recorded on a cellphone . . . yours truly now has second-thoughts about that.
The collision - from whatever perspective and from what angle it's covered - is attention-grabbing + news-worthy getting 24,000 views on Facebook after uploading by Phoenix Fox10 a week later [send and read what that is by going to this link featuring one of the New Urban Downtown Mesa's more colorful street characters in "Batman to the rescue" ]http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/46903684-story .

There are more than a few issues encountered for posting later, but one that takes attention here is Public Safety.
The speed limit on Main Street - much too fast in a pedestrian zone with light rail gliding through it and making stops at platform stations - is 30 mph. Way too fast.
Add aggressive drivers and . . .  Mesa We Have a Problem
Main Street now is not the thoroughfare or driver pass-through it once was - if cars are allowed on Main Street THEY NEED TO SLOW DOWN!
Sections of Main Street are school zones that have a mandatory 15 MPH speed limit.
