Right Out-of-the-Box Today : The Merry Main Street Winter Holiday Tree

Many hands - and two hydraulic lift trucks -  are right at work now unpacking, assembling, and lifting the pieces of a totally wired and decorated artificial tree into place, rising  today on the SE corner of Macdonald & Main Streets on the west side of The Bank of America Building.
Comments are welcome from readers on the choice of an artificial tree - "a one-time investment" - here in The New Urban Downtown Mesa, a living green city.
[anybody wanna make a bet if it's Made in China?]
It's part of bringing back Merry Main Street to downtown, according to official press releases. That short-lived seven-years in a rownholiday event [1998-2005] appears to have stuck favorably in the minds of many people, more than any other in Mesa's history
“I’m excited to see Merry Main Street back in downtown Mesa,” Mayor John Giles said. “This is the one event I hear our residents reminisce about each holiday season . . ."

Don't know about anybody else but it's difficult to see this tree from right across the street!

. . . those very real palm trees are higher in the sky

After dark the view might improve if those real green trees didn't get in the way

Unpacking the boxes today.
