He has most recently been a Community Planner/Program Manager with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a position he has held since 2012. Additionally, Brownlee was a Senior Aviation Planner with the State of Colorado, Division of Aeronautics.
MESA, Ariz. February 14, 2017 — Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Brownlee as its new Deputy Director.  Mr. Brownlee was selected from among seventy-five candidates during a national search.  He brings nearly three decades of commercial service and general aviation airport management experience to Arizona.
“Scott Brownlee is an experienced and well-rounded aviation professional,” said J. Brian O’Neill, A.A.E. Executive Director/CEO. “I am confident that he will be a valuable addition to the Gateway Airport Team.”

Brownlee added, “I am delighted to join Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority and am ready to work with the staff, airlines, and other partners to find new ways to build upon the tremendous economic impact of the airport.”

Brownlee has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota and is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He also holds a FAA Private Pilots license and is a former certified Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighter.

In his new role, Brownlee is responsible for administration and managerial duties overseeing and guiding departments and special projects to ensure that the policies and objectives of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) are achieved in a safe, effective, efficient, and professional manner.
Brownlee has 28 plus years of experience in all facets of aviation with a background in Commercial Service and General Aviation Airports. He has most recently been a Community Planner/Program Manager with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a position he has held since 2012. Additionally, Brownlee was a Senior Aviation Planner with the State of Colorado, Division of Aeronautics.
Brownlee holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Airport Administration and Business Management from the University of North Dakota.  He also holds accreditation as a Certified Member (C.M.) from the American Association of Airport Executives (A.A.A.E.) and is an FAA Licensed Private Pilot
