A WASTE OF TIME: City of Mesa 2022 "Point-In-Time" Homeless Count is A SHAM...it's pointless and unreliable

Let's NOT go through these repetitive annual encounters anymore - there are a waste of time and risky in these pandemic times for the unsheltered homeless people who might be seen  at a only prescribed times (7 hours from 05:00 am to 12:00 noon) in certain chosen locations, by 'volunteers' who have inadequate training ahead of time.
Please use the Search Box on this blog to access a number of earlier posts for previous PIT Homeless Counts. There's a proven solution - provide housing with wrap-around sources.
Every time your MesaZona blogger has spoken to a homeless person asking What has the city done for you lately?, they usually say NOTHING.
So this year

Volunteers Needed: 2022 Point-In-Time Homeless Count

The PIT Count is an effort to learn more about individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County and across the entire country.  Volunteers are needed Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 5AM to 12PM to survey individuals experiencing homelessness in Mesa so they can be provided with programs and services that will best fit their needed.  Volunteers will also be provided with hygiene kits to hand out during the Count.  Volunteers will be provided with breakfast, water, and coffee.  Training will occur prior to the count and at least one returning volunteer or PD Officer will be placed in each Count group.
