The Week in Review

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.

Trump Indictment Confirms All American Institutions Have Been Weaponized Against Conservatives

Never in my life have I seen America’s institutions as weaponized against conservatives as they are today. A Leftist District Attorney funded and selected by George Soros has elevated a misdemeanor stemming from a minuscule accounting error into a felony due to his opposition to the former president’s politics.

Instead of focusing on the rampant crime in America’s largest city, this rogue District Attorney is abusing his power for political gain. He is further reinforcing that America maintains a two-tiered justice system towards conservatives.

Bragg committed prosecutorial misconduct by reportedly hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence from this grand jury. I will use every leverage I have to ensure that every single federal dollar is rescinded from this office and to restore impartiality in our courts.

George Soros and his hand-picked minion will long live in infamy for their corrupt bastardization of our justice system.

Introducing 500+ Spending Cut Bills to Save America $1 Trillion

This week, I filed over 500 spending cut bills that will save our nation roughly $100 billion immediately, $1 trillion over a decade, and hopefully guide us in a direction that won’t require raising the debt ceiling once again. My bills propose limiting nondefense discretionary funding to Fiscal Year 2019 appropriation levels.

I hosted a press conference highlighting these cuts and was joined by Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), and Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT).

Our nation remains more than $31 trillion in debt, and the Biden Administration wants to raise this debt to $50 trillion by 2033. That’s unacceptable and unsustainable. Cutting and reforming the programs found in my bills will leave Social Security and Medicare untouched despite what Biden yells to the media.

It’s long been time to shrink Washington and grow America.

It will take some time for congress.gov to populate all the bill text, but you can eventually read them here

House Oversight & Accountability Committee Hearing on the Nation's Capital

The House Oversight & Accountability Committee hearing titled “Overdue Oversight of the Capital City: Part I.”

This particular committee has a constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight over Washington D.C. and ensure that it is well-managed and safe for all Americans.

At the hearing, my Republican colleagues and I highlighted how Washington D.C. officials have failed to keep Americans safe, spur local economic development, adequately fund local law enforcement, and provide good educational opportunities.

The soaring crime in the city concerns me the most. Just a few days ago, a staffer for Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was brutally stabbed in the head and body in broad daylight. Even during the hearing, there were two attempted carjackings in a neighborhood just blocks from the committee room. It’s unacceptable.

The nation’s capital has seen a 2.6% population decline since 2020. The Chief Financial Officer of Washington D.C. just told me they're anticipating "very slow growth” in the future. It's clear Leftist policies are making major cities like DC unlivable.

The House Oversight & Accountability Committee will continue to investigate Washington D.C. and implement policies to strip local autonomy from D.C. and loosen gun restrictions for self-protection.

House Oversight & Accountability Hearing on Military Wokeness

The House Oversight & Accountability Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs held a hearing titled “Ensuring Force Readiness: Examining Progressivism’s Impact on All-Volunteer Military.”

Under the Biden Administration, the Department of Defense has prioritized woke Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives instead of military readiness.

The politically driven agenda is granting America’s adversaries, including China, Russia, and Iran, an opportunity to surpass our military capabilities. The Biden agenda is also affecting our military recruitment and retention.

House Oversight & Accountability Committee Hearing on
LoginGov

The House Oversight & Accountability Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce held a hearing titled “Login.gov Doesn't Meet the Standard.” Login.Gov is a secure sign-in service used by the public to sign in to participating government agencies. You would use this service if you are applying for a federal job, global entry, or loan assistance.

So far, they have not provided identity verification services, lied to their customers, and continued to charge for non-existent services. That’s unacceptable.

Login.gov requires significant reform and if they cannot correct its course, then the House Oversight & Accountability will intervene.

Definition of the Week

This week, rogue Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted former President Donald J. Trump—the first time a U.S. president has ever been criminally indicted.

The move reaffirms what many Americans already knew: Democrats, the DC Uniparty, and Big Tech are out to target President Trump and his supporters.

House Democrats impeached President Trump twice. Social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter banned President Trump from using them. The FBI raided President Trump’s private residence in Florida. It’s clear that this group will do anything to prevent him from running for office again and is imposing a chilling effect on his supporters.

Inspired by this week’s indictment, here is the definition of the week:

President Donald J. Trump: An American leader who challenged the status quo so much that the Never Trumpers will do anything to diminish him and his supporters’ influence.
