Liev Schreiber doesn’t want a matchmaker
When Gayle King offered to set Liev Schreiber up with a rebound after his split from Naomi Watts, he wasn’t very amused.
“No,” Schreiber, 49, told King flatly on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday. “I’m busy with a 15-year-old,” he said, referencing his role as an older man who seduces a young girl in “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” on Broadway.
King, 61, told the “Ray Donovan” star she was “disappointed” when she heard he and longtime partner Watts, 48, separated, and asked if the former couple were “in a good place.”
“You know, we’re parents together,” Schreiber said. “We’ll be together the rest of our lives, no matter what. We’re very close, and hopefully that never changes. I don’t think it will.”
Co-parenting is part of why Schreiber took on the Broadway role.
“I wanted to be close to the kids, and I wanted to pick a job that would put me in New York and keep me in New York, and this was a job that was in the city, and it kept me around the kids,” he said. “The problem is you have no time to be with them on a theater schedule.”
