  • The sculpture, known as "Flip Side," will be an M-shaped wall containing more than 300 tiles.
  • One side will have a black and white photograph of a person, while the flip side will have a message from that person on a colorful tile to showcase the community's faces and voices.
  • The new artwork will be unveiled at the grand opening next fall and will be on display for up to a year.

WHO is artist Beth Nybeck??

She currently lives and works in Kansas City.

Beth Nybeck received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
She is a metal sculptor and public artist.
Nybeck bends and shapes large sheets of metal into abstract elegant sculpture. Her forms are inspired by the natural world.
You can often find Nybeck out in the middle of nature, transfixed by the small nuances she discovers.
She will point out how the dew hangs within a spider web, or the intricate pattern found on a decaying leaf, or how a field of wheat can look like the ocean on a particularly windy day.
You can see the power, grace, movement, and subtle nuances of nature within her artwork.
