The city selected it in 2023 to take part in the design process of
transforming the historic Sirrine House in downtown Mesa into an
agricultural, dining and educational venue to help stimulate the area’s
economy.
They promise "Reasonable efforts to engage the community"

Mesa’s goal is to use the historic Sirrine House to activate the entire site as an agricultural, dining and educational venue.
“Our philosophy from the beginning of this project is that the very best way to activate and to preserve the home is to activate the entire site. And so we have several different activity areas that are specifically designed to activate the site in different ways and that are going to be attractive for different residents in the city.”
According
to Robbins, the Schultzes would provide and administer the classes to
the community and have retail and fresh produce distribution on the
site.
- “This area was identified by the USDA as a food desert,” Robbins said.
- “So, this is a great solution to being able to grab direct, fresh food locally and seasonally here in downtown.”
The city also anticipates that the couple will manage events on the site and create special experiences, Robbins added.
