Trump Supports STRIKES On Russia
Reuters has reported that the US will provide Ukraine with intelligence on striking Russian energy infrastructure in Russia and possibly even the missiles to do it with.
Reuters has also reported that the US officials are urging the NATO members states to do the same. This would amount to a dangerous escalation.
This would be the first major policy change on this matter of the Trump administration.
TRUMP'S NEW UKRAINE STRATEGY TARGETS RUSSIAN REVENUE
Washington
has long been sharing intelligence with Kyiv, but the Wall Street
Journal said the new data would make it easier for Ukraine to hit
infrastructure such as refineries, pipelines and power plants with the
aim of depriving the Kremlin of revenue and oil.
Responding
to the reports on Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that
the "supply and use of the entire infrastructure of NATO and the United
States to collect and transfer intelligence to the Ukrainians is
obvious".
Vladimir Putin has responded to Trump’s “paper tiger” remark during the Valdai discussions.
The EU leaders have failed to agree on giving Ukraine $140 bn of Russian frozen assets, but are continuing to work on the technicalities.
The EU is now also looking to involve the G7 into the conversation. Kaja Kallas has stated that the EU could deploy the EU “drone wall” very quickly.
