THE ARIZONA FRINGE Part 2: Left-Leaning Republican Wing Nut-Job Paul Gosar

The watchful eyes of at least two diligent vigilant investigative reporters - including Steven Hsieh writing in the Phoenix New Times - once again snagged Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar, saying quite politely that  Gozar has "a tenuous relationahip with the truth . . ."
Tweets Fake Photo of Obama Shaking Hands With Iran's President
"Paul Gosar strikes again.
This time the Arizona Congressman tweeted a fake image of former President Barack Obama shaking hands with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. . ."
The Prescott Republican captioned his photo:
"The world is a better place without these guys in power."
Phoenix New Times reporter Steven Hsieh goes on to say that, ". . . several media outlets reported at the time, the image actually depicts Obama meeting with former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2011. The ad simply superimposed Rouhani's head onto Singh's body."
Gosar's response to his Twitter post:
"[N]o one said this wasn’t photoshopped."

BLOGGER NOTE: That's one way to get attention for sure!
What is it about The Great State of Arizona that produces so many whacky-political wunderkind from the same southwest territory here in the continental United States?
Something in the water?
Gosar is from Prescott, home of Arizona's first State Capitol
Other U.S.Congress members Andy Biggs and Debby Lasko were both first elected to the Arizona State House in Phoenix.
Then again, from here in Maricopa County we got both Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Russell Pearce.
We are so blessed!_________________________________________________________________________

Steven Hsieh resumes reporting:
> Obama has never met with Rouhani, though he has spoken with the leader on the phone.
> The doctored image appears to be taken from a 2015 election ad from a Super PAC supporting Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson that criticized Obama for negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program.
> As several media outlets reported at the time, the image actually depicts Obama meeting with former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2011.
> The ad simply superimposed Rouhani's head onto Singh's body.
The Congressman, known for having a tenuous relationship with the truth, doubled down on his tweet after reporters roundly criticized him for spreading misinformation.
Daniel Medina, a freelance reporter who has contributed to The Intercept and The Guardian, pointed out that Rouhani remains Iran's president and that Obama never met with him.
"[N]o one said this wasn’t photoshopped. No one said the president of Iran was dead. No one said Obama met with Rouhani in person."
In a follow-up tweet, Gosar wrote: "The point remains to all but the dimmest: Obama coddled, appeased, nurtured and protected the worlds No. 1 sponsor of terror.  The world is better without Obama as president.  The world will be better off without Rouhani."
Steven Hsieh finishes his articles with this notation:
"But Gosar is probably best known for getting politically abandoned by his six siblings, who all endorsed his general election opponent in 2018."

MD530F Cayuse Attack Helicopters: Contracts & Deliveries Update

3 hours ago Defence Web announced that MD Helicopters has delivered all six new MD 530F Cayuse Warrior helicopters to Kenya, on schedule as per the September 2018 contract.
That delivery is only part of an uptick for billions spent on attack weapons systems used in both country and national conflicts and Global Support Contracts worldwide.
That is all directly connected to and aimed at the goals "to increase interoperability with the US Armed Forces and other partners in the regions.
Additionally, a strong national defence and dedicated military force will assist in its efforts to maintain stability."

BLOGGER NOTE:
it's been anything but "assisting efforts to maintain stability."
Recent actions in The Middle East, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran are telling totally different stories in real time.

Kenyan MD 530Fs delivered

Kenyan MD 530Fs.

MD Helicopters has delivered all six new MD 530F Cayuse Warrior helicopters to Kenya, on schedule as per the September 2018 contract.
The six helicopters were seen partially disassembled in a hangar at the end of December along with what appears to be a Kenya Air Force Z-9WE, indicating the aircraft arrived at their destination before year-end
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) requested 12 of the helicopters valued at $253 million in May 2017

On 27 September 2018 MD Helicopters was awarded a contract to deliver six MD530Fs to Kenya under a $1.4 billion award that also covers the supply of up to 150 armed MD530Fs/MD530Gs to US and partner nation military forces.
The Kenyan contract includes initial logistics support (ILS) for the aircraft, aircraft systems and ground support equipment.
MD Helicopters on 13 September 2019 announced that it was awarded a contract for logistics support and training by the US Army Contracting Command in terms of the five-year Kenyan contract. It added that shipment of the six MD 530F Cayuse Warriors would be complete by the end of 2019.
Powered by the Rolls-Royce 250-C30 650shp turbine engine, these aircraft feature
  • an all-digital glass cockpit with tinted windows
  • ballistically tolerant crashworthy fuel system
  • FN Herstal Weapons Management System
  • DillonAero Mission Configurable Armament System (MCAS)
  • 62 mm ballistic armour protection
  • FN Herstal .50 caliber HMP 400 Machine Gun Pods and
  • M260 7-shot rocket pods.
Effective from 1 September 2019, the support contract covers transition training at the MD Helicopters headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, with foreign operations, including field service support, armament, and gunnery training, scheduled to occur at Laikipia Air Base in Kenya.
The US Defence Security Cooperation Agency, in announcing the Kenyan contract in 2018, said the sale would advance Kenya’s efforts to conduct scout and attack rotary wing aircraft operations in support of their AMISOM mission in Somalia.
“The MD 530F will also replace Kenya’s aging MD500 fleet, which is the current reconnaissance platform supporting Kenyan ground forces. This sale will significantly enhance the Kenyan Army’s modernization efforts and increase interoperability with the US Armed Forces and other partners in the region. Additionally, a strong national defence and dedicated military force will assist Kenya in its efforts to maintain stability in East Africa.”
(The U.S. State Department in May 2017 approved the sale of 12 MD 530F helicopters to replace Kenyas MD 500 aircraft.
The proposed $253 million sale included 4,032 M151 high-explosive warhead rockets, 1,536 2.75-inch M274 smoke signature warhead rockets, and 400,000 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition.

Lebanon and Kenya have each ordered six MD 530 light attack helicopters, MD Helicopters said.

Both delivery orders were awarded by U.S. Army Contracting Command under a $1.4 billion contract awarded in September 2017 for up to 150 MD 530 F and G model helicopters for partner forces, the company said, although the U.S. Department of Defense contract notification specifies only MD 530F helicopters for Afghanistan. U.S. Army Contracting Command could not be immediately reached for clarification.
With the two awards and a further 30 helicopters ordered in September 2017 for the Afghan Air Force, nearly 30 percent of the aircraft are in production, the company said. It delivered the first five MD 530F Cayuse Warrior helicopters to the Afghan Air Force in Kandahar on August 8. The company said they were readied for active service in less than 10 days.

Lebanon’s Air Force ordered six MD 530G Scout Attack Helicopters, MD Helicopters’ most-advanced model, the company said in a Monday, October 1 release.
The firm fixed price delivery order includes initial logistics support, as well as aircraft systems, ground support equipment, and associated services, the release said.
Deliveries are scheduled to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2020.
The MD 530G Scout Attack Helicopter ordered by Lebanon features DillonAero’s Mission Configurable Armament System, which supports up to six weapon stations. It can be configured for Hellfire missiles, M134D miniguns, GAU-19B .50 caliber Gatling guns, FN HMP-400 .50 caliber machine guns, M260 7-round or M261 19-round 2.75-inch rocket launchers and Raytheon’s Griffin B mini-missiles.
The Lebanese aircraft will have FN Herstal .50 caliber HMP-400 machine gun pods, M260 rocket pods, 70mm/2.75-inch APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System) rockets, and a WESCAM MX-10D EO/IR laser designator.
In September, General Dynamics was awarded a $44 million contract for Hydra rockets for foreign military sales, including to Lebanon. These unguided 2.75-inch rockets can be fitted with precision guidance systems like the semi-active laser guided Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System.
Lebanon has received significant military equipment from the U.S. in recent months.
In August, Lebanon received eight Bradley Fighting Vehicles. In total, the U.S. was to send 32 M2A2 Bradleys to the country, worth more than $100 million, Ambassador Elizabeth Richard said in August 2017.
In June, four A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft were formally handed over to Lebanon by the U.S., completing an order of six planes. Richard at the time highlighted the “strong bond between the U.S. and Lebanon,” and that over the last decade, the U.S. government has invested over $1.5 billion in training and equipment, and trained over 32,000 Lebanese troops.
Richard said in December that the U.S. was to supply new systems valued at more than $120 million to Lebanon including six MD 530G helicopters, six new Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as communication and night vision devices.
