SUMMARY

  •  The Boys' Doctor Strange parody, Doctor Peculiar, gives the Marvel hero's name a disturbing new meaning.
  •  Doctor Peculiar is a pimp and drug dealer who trades secrets and information on supes, acting as a middleman for their desires.
  •  Unlike the fantastical hero Doctor Strange, Doctor Peculiar's existence in The Boys is amoral, endangering sex workers and corrupting everything the original character stands for.
The Boys is no stranger to twisting beloved superheroes into sick versions of their original selves, and Doctor Strange is no exception, as The Boys’ Doctor Strange parody gives the Marvel hero’s name a new (disturbing) meaning, while simultaneously corrupting his character to its core.
Dr. Stephen Strange - in Marvel Comics - is a surgeon who learned the ways of the mystic arts after suffering a debilitating injury. After mastering the mystic arts and becoming the Marvel Universe’s Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange officially became the superhero Doctor Strange, who committed his life to the protection of the innocent, and who used his power and influence to fend off the greatest evils of his universe. Unfortunately, basically the opposite is true for The Boys’ version of Doctor Strange: Doctor Peculiar.. .
