Just before midnight on September 8th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck a populated area of central Morocco in what was the nation's largest earthquake in 268 years. This was then followed by several lesser magnitude aftershocks, and altogether this earthquake sequence represented Morocco's worst natural disaster of the 21st century. This video will discuss why this large magnitude earthquake occurred.
