In Singapore, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee led by its Chairman, Republican Party member Michael McCaul.
The meeting was also attended by the Democratic Co-Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Gregory Meeks, and members of the Committee Young Kim and Joe Wilson (Republican Party), and Joe Courtney (Democratic Party).
The Head of State thanked the congressmen for advocating for the decision of the Congress, which was crucial for the resilience of the defenders of Ukraine in the confrontation with the Russian occupiers.
“We want to thank the United States, the Congress, both parties, for the important decisions that have been made. This is really a very important support package. It will help strengthen our army on the battlefield,” he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the participants of the meeting about the situation on the frontline. They discussed key areas of further military assistance to Ukraine, including strengthening its air defense with additional systems and missiles.
The parties also emphasized the importance of allowing Ukraine to use U.S. weapons against military targets in Russia in the border areas of the Kharkiv region.
The President also discussed with the congressmen the further increase of sanctions pressure on Russia. He emphasized the role of the Congress in shaping the legal framework for the use of frozen Russian sovereign assets for the urgent needs of Ukraine.
