The bats sleep in the tunnel during the day and then emerge minutes before sunset to go search for food, which is what the National Weather Service caught on their radar on Saturday.

SEEN LARGE: The Emergence of Bats
Each summer, more than 5,000 bats come to a flood-control tunnel in that area as part of their migration to Mexico.
The Phoenix weather radar has picked up on the large emergence of bats from the Phoenix Bat Cave this evening, seen as a burst of green radar echoes near SR-51 in the Biltmore area. #azwx
