In southwest France the government has now sent soldiers in to help battle a massive fire, which this morning forced the evacuations of some residents in the suburbs of Bordeaux.

Madrid Firestorm: Three massive independent forest fires merged into a single, unstoppable mega-fire just 50 kilometers (31 miles) west of Madrid. Regional President Isabel Díaz Ayuso declared it the "worst fire in the history of the region."
Impacted Communities: Around 70,000 people have been evacuated from central villages like Robledo de Chavela and Fresnedillas de la Oliva.
