As much as nationalists want you to believe that each border is a separate universe in itself, the truth is that the entire planet is interconnected.
Those of the older generations who were unlettered fell for the propaganda of the powerful and mocked the Meteorologists, Oceanographers, Paleontologists, Astrodynamicists, and other scientists who informed us that this is what the future of the planet would look like.
Now, it is up to the younger generations to pick up the slack, and hopefully be able to right the wrongs that that human species has exhausted on the planet thus far.
Politicians will want you to believe that wildfires are another country's problem, but the whole world is currently burning.
