Mesa-based Iveda Announces Contract for School Safety & Security in Viet Nam Using ZEE® Cameras

Press Release: from Iveda.com
Iveda’s ZEE Cameras to be in Vietnam Schools Countrywide
June 14, 2016

What will they think of next for total surveillance? .... now in large-scale deployment with 1,000 - 3,000 per school district in Viet Nam at approximately $50-$150 Million in camera revenue . . . to establish a cloud-based video surveillance standard for countrywide school safety and security, funded by the government . . .
MESA, Ariz. (June 14, 2016)Iveda® (OTCQB: IVDA), worldwide enabler of cloud-based video surveillance and data management through the licensing of its Sentir® platform, today announced that Hai Chu School District expects to complete installing 320 ZEE® cameras this week, at schools in Da Nang City. ZEE is Iveda’s Sentir-enabled plug-and-play cloud cameras.
Iveda’s customer Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the project’s general contractor, will install an additional 680 ZEE cameras within other school districts in Da Nang over the next few weeks.

“We’re focusing our efforts to oversee customer engagements of our local reseller and VNPT as these actual end-user deployments of ZEE cameras mark the true Vietnam market launch,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. “With schools’ plan of putting cameras in each classroom and relevant common areas, VNPT is estimating 1,000 to 3,000 ZEE cameras per district. This school security application alone has the potential to generate sales of hundreds of thousands of cameras over the next few years, at approximately $50 million to $150 million in camera revenue.”
VNPT already has similar contracts with other school districts throughout Vietnam. The Telecom chose the city of Da Nang as the model for a large-scale deployment to establish a cloud-based video surveillance standard for countrywide school safety and security.
“School security, funded by the government, is just one application awarded to VNPT.  We’ve been working with them in securing an umbrella contract with cities throughout Vietnam for private cloud video surveillance solution for safe city projects. We’ve also been assisting them in preparation for a market launch targeting consumers, through their retail stores,” added Ly.
Vietnam has 63 provinces with about 8 school districts per province with an average of 32 schools in a typical district.
Da Nang has the fifth largest population and is the third biggest economic center in Vietnam after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is also one of the major port cities and transportation hubs in Vietnam.

Arizona Zanjeros + ACA Create Aerospace & Defense Supply Chain Directory

Arizona's first comprehensive aerospace and defense supply chain database premiers
Updated 4:28
Phoenix Business Blog

The Arizona Zanjeros and Arizona Commerce Authority are initiating the first in a series of resources to boost Arizona supply chain vendors in aerospace and defense.

The first comprehensive statewide database of companies in the two sectors is now accessible from a single portal: A&D Supply Chain Directory.

A&D Supply Chain Directory
Welcome to the Arizona Aerospace & Defense interactive database.
With this directory, you can:
  • Access vendors with specialized competencies, clearances and certifications,
  • Identify potential new clients who can benefit from your company’s unique competencies and offerings, and
  • Research Arizona companies with whom to partner to pursue larger contracts or projects.
  • View contact information and other company details (registered users only)
If you’re an Arizona A & D company and have not created a profile, click on the Add My Company button.
Enter the name of a company (complete or partial) or the types of products or services you are looking for then click Search.
The data is not only company contact information, but allows searches by competencies, specializations, security clearances and certifications.

The A&D Supply Chain Directory, which will be promoted to the overall industry, is the first time any organization has compiled this type of a list at this depth of detail. Its creation was funded by a grant from the Department of Defense.
“The goal of the database is to help the industry identify growth opportunities, such as finding new suppliers, customers and partnerships,” said Kim Smith, Vice President of Attack Helicopters and Mesa Senior Site Executive at Boeing, and co-chair of the Zanjeros aerospace and defense sub-committee.
The Arizona Zanjeros, an organization of top company executives from across the state charged with promoting Arizona business sectors, recognized the opportunity, according to Co-chairman Michael Bidwell, president of the Arizona Cardinals.
"(The Zanjeros) formed subcommittees in three high-value industries – aerospace and defense, bioscience and health care, and information technology,” he said. “(These) are tasked with creating tools and making connections that will directly benefit Arizona companies.”
"I want the world to know that Arizona is the ideal place to live, work, play, recreate, retire, visit, build a business and get an education."
Governor Doug Ducey
Founder of the Arizona Zanjeros
To make that vision a reality, Governor Doug Ducey has founded a new business leadership group called the Arizona Zanjeros. Led by Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwill and Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lea Marquez Peterson as co-chairs, the group’s objective is to promote Arizona’s reputation as a prime place to conduct business with an unmatched quality of life. Utilizing the benefits and advantages of a public-private partnership, the organization will work closely with the state’s economic development partners to host visiting CEOs and provide both hospitality and first-hand accounts of what it’s like to live and do business here.
Traditionally, zanjeros are water masters who control the expansive canal systems that provide a sustainable water source to Arizona’s metropolitan regions and allow life to flourish in the desert. In a similar vein, the Arizona Zanjeros will help promote the state and drive business growth, expansion and development by serving as ambassadors for the state and working to ensure the state continues to flourish economically.

More than 1,250 companies with Arizona presence in aerospace and defense submitted information on products, services and capabilities. The data were collected through interviews, surveys focus groups and oversight by A&D companies from across Arizona.
“This database is not only important for Arizona-based suppliers, but also for aerospace and defense companies that do business on a global scale,” said Tim Mahoney, President and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace and co-chair of the Zanjeros aerospace and defense sub-committee.

Whoa! Ready for This? COGNITIVE ELECTRONIC WARFARE... Got it??

Adaptive Communications Jamming Demo
During an airborne test series, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) demonstrated the capability of a cognitive electronic warfare (CogEW) system that learns to dynamically counter adaptive communications threats. DARPA’s Behavioral Learning for Adaptive Electronic Warfare (BLADE) program acted as a pathfinder program in DoD CogEW, detecting, characterizing, and countering advanced wireless communication threats in minutes, not months.
“Our team is proud to be a BLADE performer with DARPA,” said Dr. J. Scott Rodgers, Spectrum Systems Lab Director, Lockheed Martin ATL. “This effort allows us to prove the viability of applying machine learning techniques to spectrum challenges, providing smarter spectrum operation capabilities.”
The BLADE program successfully demonstrated its communications jamming technology at a government test site. Lockheed Martin engineers, joined by representatives from their subcontractor, Raytheon, flew in a modified Piper Navajo aircraft for several hours, collecting over-the-air RF energy from instrumented wireless communications test signals that included military radios, cell phones and specialized datalinks. Raytheon provided their next generation Electronic Warfare System, Silencer, to host the BLADE machine-learning software for the flight test series. More than 25 people representing multiple government organizations watched as the airborne BLADE system dynamically sensed, characterized and jammed adaptive wireless communication threats across various tactical scenarios.
BLADE is enabling a shift from today's manual-intensive, lab-based countermeasure development approach to an adaptive, in-the-field systems approach.

More importantly, the technology provides the warfighter with increased capability to counter new or advanced threats which can quickly adapt or change its electronic profile.  Lockheed Martin engineers and scientists developed novel machine-learning algorithms and techniques that rapidly detect and characterize new radio threats, dynamically synthesize new countermeasures, and provide accurate electronic battle damage assessment based on over-the-air observable changes in the threat.

Marketing firm RnRMarketResearch predicts that the worldwide electronic warfare market will grow at a CAGR of 4.29% during the forecast period of 2016 to 2021 to reach $ 25.36 billion by 2021 with the electronic support segment leading the overall EW market growth.
The growing number of wars and transnational disputes, emergence of cognitive electronic warfare technology, increased system reliability and efficiency due to the introduction of TWT (travelling-wave tube)-based systems, and advancements due to integrated electronic warfare systems are the factors driving the market.
According the the firm, the electronic support is the largest share-contributing segment in the electronic warfare market. This segment plays a significant role in recognizing the threats in tactical environment.
In 2016, the North America region dominates the electronic warfare market, whereas, the Asia-Pacific region is projected to grow at the highest CAGR during the forecast period. This is mainly attributed to huge population base, booming economy, increasing funding/investments towards the development of EW products, growing focus of both, international and domestic players on the APAC EW market, and a large number of R&D activities.

In February 2015, Exelis announced that plans had been approved for the sale of the company through a cash/stock purchase to competitor Harris Corporation. The purchase price of 4.75 billion dollars was reported as being one of the highest such defense company purchases, since the Lockheed/Martin merger. When finalized in June 2015, the purchase was expected to make Harris/Exelis one of the top 10 defense contractors in the United States. [6][7]

Stop Dark Money in Arizona

Say NO to SB1516. Learn more at http://StopCorruptionNowAZ.com

Rep. Ken Clark, D-Phoenix, is leading a campaign to stop the Dark Money bills with a citizen’s referendum that will require 75,321 signatures by Aug. 15 to get on the ballot. This is not specifically a partisan issue — Democrats are taking Dark Money, too. Rather, it’s an issue of staggering ethical concern. Every single voter will be impacted if it is allowed to stand. Effectively, elections in Arizona could be bought by the highest bidder.

Clark will be appearing Saturday, June 25, at the Mesa Public Library, 64 E. 1st Street in Mesa in the Saguaro Room, 10:30 a.m. Paid and volunteer petitioners are circulating the petitions to put a referendum on the law onto the November ballot at the courthouse plaza and in the Yavapai County Democratic offices. If you would like to sign, or circulate a petition, email DWPrescottArea@gmail.com, and we will get in touch with you.
