High Tech Boom + Emerging Cannabis Bioceuticals

Sky-high margins for Arizona cannabis operations
There are now dozens of Canadian publicly-listed cannabis companies. A number of these companies have developed innovative business plans and/or creatively pioneered niches for themselves in this emerging industry.
The selection for investors is dizzying.
As the Company surveyed the business landscape in Arizona, what they saw was the ideal jurisdiction from which to commence cannabis operations.
While there are many ‘flavours’ of cannabis companies from which investors can choose, the principals of investing remain the same. People want to see strong margins, robust growth opportunities, and a solid business strategy. That one sentence sums up Canadian Bioceutical Corporation (
CSE.BCC, OTCQB: CBICF, Forum).
Strong margins? The Company’s initial cannabis operations are located in the state of Arizona. While Arizona plant touching and retail operations by law are non-for profit, running these operations requires substantial management, real estate, finance, logistics, back-office, legal, and other operational inputs that are supplied to it through management agreements.  BCC owns the management companies that support the operations

The Company chose Arizona, ranked as the third-best state for cannabis investment in the U.S. The list of “positives” for cannabis operations in that state is lengthy, especially for a Canadian-based company. Many U.S. jurisdictions, while otherwise attractive, don’t allow foreign ownership of cannabis operations.

This is not an impediment in Arizona. BCC has just as much operational freedom doing business in Arizona as any state-based company. Of equal importance, Arizona allows full seed-to-sale operations, meaning complete vertical integration for cannabis operations.

Along with its cultivation and processing facilities, H4L operates two full-service cannabis dispensaries in Phoenix MSA: its “Mesa North” and “Mesa East” outlets, in an urban population of 4.6 million people. However, just these two retailing fronts comprise 5% of the entire cannabis market in Arizona, making H4L one of the largest cannabis operations in the southwestern United States.

In-Your-Face: Right Here + Now

Leaked NSA Malware Is Helping Hijack Computers Around the World
In mid-April, an arsenal of powerful software tools apparently designed by the NSA to infect and control Windows computers was leaked by an entity known only as the “Shadow Brokers.” Not even a whole month later, the hypothetical threat that criminals would use the tools against the general public has become real, and tens of thousands of computers worldwide are now crippled by an unknown party demanding ransom.
The malware worm taking over the computers goes by the names “WannaCry” or “Wanna Decryptor.” It spreads from machine to machine silently and remains invisible to users until it unveils itself as so-called ransomware, telling users all their files have been encrypted with a key known only to the attacker and that they will be locked out until they pay $300 to an anonymous party using the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. At this point, one’s computer would be rendered useless for anything other than paying said ransom. The price rises to $600 after a few days; after seven days, if no ransom is paid, the hacker (or hackers) will make the data permanently inaccessible (WannaCry victims will have a handy countdown clock to see exactly how much time they have left).
Ransomware is not new; for victims, such an attack is normally a colossal headache. But today’s vicious outbreak has spread ransomware on a massive scale, hitting not just home computers but reportedly healthcare, communications infrastructure, logistics, and government entities.

A Teach-able Moment for Ryan Winkle?

This popular and highly-regarded District 3 Mesa City Council member made the news the other day for all the wrong reasons - a citation for driving under the influence.

To be fair and balanced, it is not the kind of news we neither want to see or hear, but nonetheless deserves to get reported

Nice headline, huh? [and police body cam video included]
Mesa politician's wife tries to stop his DUI arrest

ABC15
MESA, AZ - Tempe police have released officer body camera footage of a Mesa politician's drunk driving arrest. . . .
A woman, who identified herself as Winkle's wife, seemed to try to get her husband off the hook, saying he is a city council member who supports police officers and their union.
“You guys are literally towing and arresting the only council person that’s supporting you guys in the union,” she said.
Winkle is put in handcuffs after he completed a field sobriety test. He refused a breathalyzer, but the video showed him submitting to a blood test. Those results are still being analyzed.
