U.S. Accuses CUBA Of Sending Mercenaries To RUSSIA!

U.S. urges UN to isolate Cuba over its fighters' role in war against Ukraine.
  • The US government rejects the idea that Cuba is in a poor financial situation due to the US embargo and sanctions.
  • The US government has also stated that Russia is conducting a recruitment campaign inside Cuba for the war in Ukraine.

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is mobilizing American diplomats to lobby against a United Nations resolution calling for the lifting of the decades-long trade embargo on Cuba. As one of its arguments, Washington is citing Havana’s support for Russia in its war against Ukraine.

This is stated in an internal State Department document reviewed by Reuters. ..

Summary
  • U.S. to urge allies to oppose U.N. resolution on Cuba
  • Washington says Cuba actively supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine
  • U.S. believes an estimated 1,000 to 5,000 Cubans fighting in Ukraine
  • U.N. resolution calling U.S. to lift Cuba embargo typically garners overwhelming support
WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's administration is mobilizing U.S. diplomats to lobby against a U.N. resolution calling on Washington to lift its decades-long embargo on Cuba, in part by sharing details of Cuba’s support for Russia’s war in Ukraine, according to an internal State Department cable seen by Reuters.
As part of the administration's campaign, U.S. diplomats will tell countries that the Cuban government is actively supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine with up to 5,000 Cubans fighting alongside Moscow's forces.

The October 2-dated unclassified cable sent to dozens of U.S. missions directed American diplomats to urge the governments to oppose the non-binding resolution, which has passed in the U.N. General Assembly by wide margins year after year since 1992.

Officials at the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this story.
Last year, the General Assembly adopted the resolution with 187 countries voting in favor.
The United States and Israel were the only countries that voted against it, while Moldova abstained

PLEASE NOTEThe cable said that the U.N. resolution was "incorrectly" blaming the United States for Cuba's problems which it said were caused by Cuba's "own corruption and incompetence."
  • It added that the objective of this push was to demonstrate the administration's opposition, significantly reducing the number of "yes" votes.

U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis Suspends Release of Economic Statistics During Federal Government Shutdown

SUITLAND, Md. -- The Bureau of Economic Analysis, a federal agency that produces official statistics on the U.S. economy, is required to suspend operations until Congress appropriates funding for this fiscal year. This will include suspension of any economic data release that had been scheduled to occur while the federal government is shut down.

BEA will resume work when the agency receives funding. If the shutdown results in postponement of the release of economic statistics, a new release schedule will be issued as soon as possible.

BEA estimates the nation’s gross domestic product and produces statistics on U.S. personal income and spending, industries, state and local economies, and foreign trade and investment.

FULL FRONTAL MONDAY MORNING MEDIA BLAST: Zelenskiyy Statments

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will become a member of the European Union regardless of the position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

On Monday, October 6, Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the Hungarian people support Ukraine in any case.

“Ukraine will be in the European Union — with Orban or without him, because this is the choice of the Ukrainian people,” the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy commented on possible changes to EU accession procedures that would remove the need for unanimous approval:

“Changing the procedure means finding a way to move forward without [Hungary]. When the majority — all countries except Hungary — support Ukraine and understand why it’s necessary,” he noted.

  • The president also reminded that Ukraine has fulfilled all the technical requirements to open the first cluster in EU accession talks.
Orbán recently reiterated that Hungarians “do not want to be in one union with Ukrainians” so as “not to share their fate” — a fate that, in his view, means being close to Russia.
He also claimed that Ukraine is not a sovereign state, since its bills are paid by EU members.

Zelenskyy believes that Hungary’s obstruction of Ukraine’s EU path is driven by domestic political reasons.

The European Commission has said that opening negotiation clusters for Ukraine without Hungary’s consent “could be considered,” though the final decision must be made by EU member states.

The U.S. has unblocked Patriot supplies, but now everything depends on funding through the PURL program, Zelensky said.

“This is the mechanism through which we purchase air defense systems in the United States. The key contributors are the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. These are the countries that have made the main contributions,”
he noted.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has already begun talks with these countries about a second phase of contributions, since “we are not seeing enough speed from others.”

The president also denied that the U.S. government shutdown had affected arms deliveries:

“The Americans have not blocked anything. I know what was said in the media — about the shutdown and certain challenges — but they have not stopped supplies to Ukraine.”

“Russia will do everything to stop us from extracting our own gas,” — Zelenskyy.

The president warned that the Kremlin will intensify attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector, particularly gas production.

“It will be difficult to protect everything. But we are preparing reserves so that people have gas and electricity. We will fight and increase our own production step by step,”
Zelenskyy emphasized.

Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that the U.S. Did Not Stop Delivering Weapons to Ukraine Despite the Government Shutdown.

  • Recall that The Telegraph reported U.S. military aid could be delayed because of the government shutdown.

Zelenskyy was asked whether Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles strike Russian territory.

“In recent days Ukraine has used not only drones but also other indigenous long-range systems for strikes,” the president said.

He added that Ukraine will publicly announce the use of its long-range capabilities later, so as not to inform the enemy.

Our Ukrainian weaponry is among the most effective in Europe, and we are ready to produce far more modern weapons. To do that, we need appropriate financing. I thank the Netherlands for supporting our production programs.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the capacity of Ukraine’s defense industry has increased by tenfold, and this potential must continue to grow. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his speech at the third International Defense Industries Forum in Kyiv. The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, also attended the event.

This high-level visit once again underscored strong Ukrainian-Dutch partnership, which rests firmly on a foundation of shared democratic values, unwavering respect for sovereignty and international law, and the recognition that Europe’s borders must remain inviolable and cannot be redrawn through aggression or the use of force.

n the midst of a full-scale war, we are able to hold such events, which demonstrate Ukrainian strength that only continues to grow. And this says a lot, primarily, about our resilience: the resilience of the Ukrainian state and the inner strength of our people.

In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian defenders.

On the night of October 5, Russia launched a combined strike on Ukraine, deploying 549 missiles and drones that contained over 100,000 foreign-made components – sourced from companies in the United States, China and Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Netherlands. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address.

Mary E Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi are awarded this year's Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology, October 6, 2025, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi won the Nobel Prize in medicine on Monday, October 6, for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.
  • Brunkow is a senior program manager at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle.
  • Ramsdell is a scientific adviser for Sonoma Biotherapeutics in San Francisco.
  • Sakaguchi is a distinguished professor at the Immunology Frontier Research Center at Osaka University in Japan.

Peripheral immune tolerance is one way the body helps keep the immune system to stay in control and attacking its own tissues instead of foreign invaders. Their work dates back to 1995, when Sakaguchi made the first key discovery. Brunkow and Ramsdell made another breakthrough in 2001 and Sakaguchi linked all of their work two years later.

"The laureates’ discoveries launched the field of peripheral tolerance, spurring the development of medical treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases," the Nobel Assembly said in a news release.
"This may also lead to more successful transplantations.
Several of these treatments are now undergoing clinical trials."

Thomas Perlmann, Secretary-General of the Nobel Committee, said he had only been able to reach Sakaguchi by phone Monday morning. He left voicemails for Brunkow and Ramsdell. The trio will share the prize money of 11 million Swedish kronor (nearly $1.2 million).

The award is the first of the 2025 Nobel Prize announcements and was announced by a panel at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Last year's prize was shared by Americans Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for their discovery of microRNA , tiny bits of genetic material that serve as on and off switches inside cells that help control what the cells do and when they do it.

Nobel announcements continue with the physics prize on Tuesday, chemistry on Wednesday and literature on Thursday. The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced Friday and the Nobel Memorial Prize in economics on October 13.

The award ceremony will be held on December 10, the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, who founded the prizes. Nobel was a wealthy Swedish industrialist and the inventor of dynamite. He died in 1896.

POST-NOTE:
The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1569–1795) was a large, multi-ethnic, and multi-faith state in Central and Eastern Europe, formed by the Union of Lublin.
  • It was a "Noble's Democracy" or "Golden Freedom" state, characterized by a decentralized political system with an elected monarch whose power was limited by a powerful parliament (the Sejm) controlled by the nobility (szlachta).
  • Despite its initial strength and unique political liberties, the Commonwealth eventually declined due to internal conflicts, legislative paralysis from the liberum veto, and foreign interference, leading to its partition and disappearance from the map by the late 18th century
