German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has presented his vision of the European Union to lawmakers of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He called for a' reformed and enlarged EU' that is more geopolitical in outlook and actions. But he emphasized the Commission should have more powers to ensure all members uphold the bloc's principles. He also touched on the bloc's relations with China - which he said he still saw as a partner - but underscored earlier calls to reduce economic dependencies on Beijing.
